My pup got sick on Tuesday and started throwing up. Took him to the vet and they didn't really say anything. Just gave him fluids and meds to stop him from throwing up. Put him on a diet with canned foods also. Wednesday he's fine and the happy puppy he's always been. Then today was a repeat of Tuesday. I end up taking him to another vet and they take xrays of him. She comes back into the waiting room and gives me this sad look and tells me to follow her. We go into this room where his xrays were hanging and I could see something in his stomach. She said she believes there is a foreign object in his tummy. He must have swallowed something like a rubber ball or something of that nature. She said to not feed him or give him any water for the rest of tonight and bring him back into the vet at 7:30 tomorrow morning. They are going to do a second xray and see if the object is still in there and if so, he'll be going into surgery. I love this puppy more than anything in this world and it is really sad to see him just laying around not being his playful self ya know? I know this is lame and it is a bike forum but...prayers tend to help sometimes. If nothing else, pray that somehow they'll let me finance this surgery. haha I don't have the money for a surgery and I've dished out over $300 since Tuesday. The xrays alone are costing me $180 a pop. I need a miracle.

Let's hope my dog shits out whatever he's got stuck in him. That'd be a miracle! :wtg:

Older picture of him but this is Raven. :)

Yeah my Dacshund has been having back problems lately. Sucks to be helpless to do anything for them.

Two Bichons here.

$180 for x-rays?? Yikes, that sounds way too high. It only cost me $70 for 3 x-rays a few months ago. Sounds like he'll be OK, but it may cost a little bit and it'll be worth every cent. Most vets will work out the financial problems. Vets don't get into the profession thinking on making much money.

CBRJunkie, the faster you take care of those back problems the better chance of full recovery. It can eventually lead to paralysis. I just went thru that with one of my Bichons and I know it's very common in Dacshunds.

She has her spells of pain. The vet gave us some drugs for her. Shes ok for now but its not fixing the problem. My dogs mother owned by my Uncle was paralized and a good friend of mine went through the same thing with his.

Well the pup pulled through!!!!! They did more xrays this morning and the object that was in his stomach was no longer there. So we didn't do surgery after all. We're hoping he'll poop it out :)

This pup is my world :)
