Kawasaki just keep getting uglier and uglier!

the 08 zx10r will be a 200mph bike!

For them to be thinking that I would have to say they are on crack. It will never happen.

Thank you Steve for putting that link up. Like you said that is worst fake azz photoshop job that I have ever seen before. Did a 3rd grader do this?

The zx 7 was a good bike and a competitive bike for the first couple of years that it was made. After that Kawasaki just kept on releasing the same bike year after year after year after year, well they just didn't know when to stop. In fact I believe they pretty much released the same bike for 10 years or more. Not only was it not competitive against the Suzuki 750 but it wasn't even competitive against bikes like the 99 R6, or many other 600’s. So now I think everyone knows why Kawasaki stopped making the zx7. Now is Kawasaki really serious about entering a market where Suzuki has completely dominated? I hope so because; imagine what Suzuki could do with the 750 if they had any competition? In fact I believe I just read a magazine article where they gave the gsxr 750 the best all around sportbike again! I would love to see a Kawasaki 800cc bike. I just hope that they have learned from there past zx7 mistakes.

Besides the really bad photoshop. I don't see it happening. There's no point for it. The reason all the 750's went away was because there was no longer a class to race them in. Only reason Suzuki still has one is heritage. The GSXR750 was the original supersport. Sales help too. Needless to say, I'll belive it when I see it.

The Kawasaki did have a few moments of glory in it's afterlife at the hands of Eric Bostrom ...

He only managed to squeeze 4 out of a possible 16 wins with the bike in 2002.

He only managed to squeeze 1 out of 18 possible wins in 2003.
(The margin of victory measured in seconds was minimal, read up on the race history and you will note he was spanked on the 7 numerous times)

He later on went and jumped ship to Ducati in 2004.

I doubt he did this because the Kawasaki was such a dominant machine....

Kawasaki will not introduce a new 800cc Road going street legal motorcycle until they can deliver significant gains in power over a 600...

The BMEP (brake means effective pressure) of a 1000cc motorcycle is far greater than that of a 800cc engine.... Until kawasaki can develop a multi /or adjustable cam timing like a lot of other auto manufactures are using then the BMEP of the 800 will not produce anywhere near the amount of a 1000 in the lower rev range .... Until we see centrifugal cam timing or solenoid operated multi lift valves then the 800cc production engine makes no sense becuase most people won't buy it as it will not be the fastest/best handling machine off the showroom floor.....

A reciprocating camshaft is always a compromise....

People buy horsepower and ride torque .....

If you were an AMA Racer and had to compete on the bus stop style tracks that they had to ride on a few years ago you couldn't blame Eric Bostrom for jumping onto a Ducati .........

I want a 750 and wish the other manufacturers would build 750s. Just do like Suzuki and upgrade the engine to a 750, throw it in the 600s frame and charge $1300 more.

I think more people would buy them because of insurance is less than a 1000 and experienced riders know that is all you really need on the street..

With over 20,000-25,000 street miles per year for the last several years, it is my opinion that even a modern 600 is overkill for the streets. Really, anything in the 250-450cc range (yes, single piston), a supermotard, is plenty, and in many ways more fun, on/off the street.

Yes, I have a 1300, but I'd probably ride my Duke more if it was 100%, or a 400SM if I had one. Those are light/flickable, torquey, well suspended for these crappy roads we have, somewhat off-read worthy, and cheap to run, insure, and tax.

Mike, if you want crappy roads come ride in OK. The roads in Charleston are great.
