Been considering getting one of those emergency tire plugging kits with the CO2 canisters, but got talked out of it by someone I respect.

Ended up buying a tiny air compressor at Wal-Mart for about ten bucks, taking it out of the plastic housing (to make it smaller), hooking up alligator clips where the lighter plug used to be and it fits in the bottom of my underseat storage, nice and tidy in a waterproof plastic ziploc bag. :wtg:

Picked up a tire plugging kit to go with it for another $6. Total weight of compressor and tire plugging kit is around 2 lbs.

I've been fortunate, in that I have not ever needed this stuff, but someday I may :crying:

Kinda like carrying a few spare screws... better to carry it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Yep yep, I've had one of these for a long time. I've used it twice I think, and not on my own bike.

Many guys in the straight line scene use a similar compressor on board to fill up air shifter .... They (The Pumps) are real small like your example and can be mounted on a lot of old school sportbikes..... The new bikes don't leave you with a lot of room in the tail section ....

The C02 mini bottles are not too bad.... You just might want to carry 4 of them .....

Ask Mike K about his ride up in Suchess GA from TWO campground.....

The tear took 4 snot plugs and 2 bottles of fix a flat.....(fix a flat already had compressed air in bottle so it was a quick easy fix, but to find it was a 40 mile round trip from scene to store and back .....)

He even rode back to Charleston from Atlanta that way ......
