I wanted to get some feedback on Tomahawk tires. I know they are cheap but they are retreads. Their is no DOT standards for motorcycle retreads. I don't think I like this idea. I only have two tires on the ground. Airplanes and semis have extra tires, and we see lots of recaps on the highway.

The worst tires on the planet by far, stay away from these things. If you want to buy a cheap tire there are plenty of other alternatives. Hopefully Steve will chime in here from KWS. I'm sure he's seen them come in there shop before.
Don't do it!
Spend the extra dollar and get a good set. It could save your life.

Hey Man. This is Steve from KWS. DO NOT USE THOSE SORRY TIRES EVEN IF SOMEONE PAYS YOU TO USE THEM AND GETS A FREE SET FOR YOU. Those tire suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We do not even let people bring them things in our shop. They are recap tires. Please do not use them man. From what I have been told by those who have used them they suck at low speed, they suck at high speed and handle like crap.
I would rather you sell your bike, stop riding, and get in a low life cage than use them.

I just talked to the Parts Unlimited rep he had a little info. He had a dealer that had got in some blems, very scary. Blems normaly are just visual, not thies. There was tread missing, rags and bottle caps in the tire. I would never use them on my bike. I just wanted other members made aware of what they might be buying. I know alot of thies guys buy off the internet and don't have a clue what it is they are buying.

I bought some of their race tires and they stuck well but weighed about twice as much as standard tires. The weight made it handle like crap. If someone that doesn't go fast and cruises on the street they would be fine. Another guy here had a set and didn't like the way they handled either, so there is some first hand knowledge. KWS couldn't even get the rear tire to mount. I believe this is why they will not even mess with them now.

Yup. That is one reason. We would rather you use something good that will not endanger your life.
