Nate Kern is a rider who races the BMW K1200R and a zx10 in our local CCS southeast region. He races against Matt and Kenny on a regular basis on the zx10. Anyway he was featured in roadracing world mag. Here's the link.

He enters every race his two bike are eligable for. And most of the time he just does one lap to get points and then pulls in. He's pretty fast on the Beemer and wins a lot of races but he is still buying the #1 plate.
I think at Roebling he was entering like 17 races a weekend.

Well Nate is a very good rider, however he isn't the best rider in any of the classes that he participates. He races two bikes in the expert classes. With the BMW he is able to enter all of the LW classes. There he is riding against mostly SV 650's, and in some races the buell 1200's. With the zx10 he is able to race in several of the hw classes. So he usually enters just about all of the races on a given weekend. Most races he just completes one lap and pits in. This allows him to get points for that race. So he will win several championships because he simply entered more races than anyone. Again, he is a good rider, but he isn't faster than Matt or Kenny.
Sounds like a loophole to me. Why not finish the races, for the experience at the very least? Kinda lame...
Yeah, I bet a set of tires lasts this guy a good long while.
I remember a Charleston guy did this same thing a few years back...... :chin:

Has a Charleston rider won the overall championship?
Overall 600 champion. I'm pretty sure he got the 600 class but not 100% positive.

A class championship is a lot different than the overall. I think that a Charleston rider has won the Amatuer Middleweight GP class the last four out of five years. The last last time a Charleston rider didn't get it was me in 2003. :wall:
Class Championships are more even. If you do all the rounds and are consistant you have a good chance.
But if someone else wants the overall which is combined points from all classes you could be last place of every race and still win it if you enter enough classes.$$$$$$$

What's the point of doing this? If he wants to move up the food chain wouldn't owner/teams watch him in action instead of just reading his name in Cycle News? But I'm sure it's frustrating to do it the right way and lose out to someone cheating the system. Sounds like CCS needs to fix this.
well do scouts and stuff come to ya'lls tracks like kawi and yamahaw scouts or how do you get picked up by a major team?

I was wondering why that guy only did one lap then pull in. Kind of a pansy way to win something if you ask me, but no one did so I will shut up now.

If you're fast you'll get noticed but it's highly competitive and a very political.....just like most things in life.
