I think that most everyone is using a 120/70/17 front. I know that I am. Are you going to use them on the street or track? If you are going to use them on the street then you probably want the dot race take offs. Kenny and Matt are both using race slicks. Which are super expensive when you buy them new, however this is the best tire for the track. You should have an answer in a day or two from someone.

Deffinatly a 120/70 front. The 180 rears are becoming scarce. Most everybody that races with a 600 or bigger runs the 190 rear. Good tire but if you get takeoffs that are 190 you will have to lengthen you're chain. May be a good time to go down one tooth in the front if you havent already. That will give you a little more room for the taller tire.

Right on, well I'm sticking with the 120/70 in the front, I thought about going to a 190 in the rear didn't know I'd have to lengthen my chain. 5mm makes that much of a difference? I'll be using them for the street Barry. My rear has cords showing. I can do without a front if anyone has one they just want to get rid of. I just want a cheap set to get me to the winter. What do you want for a set of those pirellis? What are they exactly?

I can give you 10% off, anything more than that you'll have to check with Kevin. Bring him some food, he loves to eat!

lol well i stopped in champion and Todd pointed me to Jason who pointed me to a set of GPs right on what I thought I'd have to spend. Great deal thanks a lot. Like them a lot in the turns. Went out in the sticks soon after and tried breaking them in a little. Once I hit 110 the front started hopping left and right REAL bad, I went to 120 and it scared the crap out of me so I had to shut it down. The back seemed a little hard too, so I went back and I thought he said they were at like 30 psi but they were at 39 psi. Dropped them down to 32 in the rear and 30 in the front. Didn't really get a chance to get on it too much before it started raining but I hit 125 and didn't notice it doing it. Thnk these tires are going to be real good for me. Felt great on the offramps and frontage road. Thanks.

Cool, but remember they don't last too long. I say maybe 1500 miles.

Would some one explain to him how Race tires harden and loose alot of there grip!

i'm not arguing that keith, you should stay on topic and not drag things from one website to the other. if you're so sure of yourself put your money or a set of tires where you mouth is. i'll get my value out of them.

GPs are nice. Pirellis are a hell of a lot better. Glad you got some tires and hope all went well.

Thats strange but good for you. Everytime Jason sells those things to a guy with a R6 or most 600's and DK or someone else installs them they are always calling bitchin that they need to add links to the chain.

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b135/burns420/bigfinger.gif You can bust my ball all you like man it does not matter to me. I would not know from a personal lever. I would know by talking to all the ama rider I speak to here at kws. Our oun ama rider and others there. Even rider we deal with that race in the country above us. Most of the people I speak with have tried the D's and the P's All have said the P's are better. If you like the D's keep riding them. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b135/burns420/kicknuts.gif

The Pirrellis also weigh less. Now why does that matter. Less weigh on the wheels, gain speed.

Yeah and every AMA rider on Dunlops will tell you they are the best and every rider on Michelins will tell you there the best. And before Kevin had the Pirelli deal his Dunlops were the best. Get my Point.

I'm not trying to start shit with you Steve its just if you want to say somethings better that Kevin is trying to sell than what we are trying to sell for half the price Kenny, Jason and I are not going to like it to much. I'll shut up now.

I know you are not trying to start shit, nor am I. I don't care if I say something and it pisses people off. That is just the way things go sometimes. KWS still sells some Dunlops, not many. We sell more Pirelli than anything. Even when our team ran Dunlops I thought they still sucked! Now I am not out there racing like you are so you may love them, great!
We sell the Pirelli at the cost that Moose sell them.

alright my front tire is still doing the jig at about 120 up. faster I go worse it gets. Was doing it at about 105+ but I lowered the air pressure to 30 in the front. Still does it and i dont want to go any lower. I'd like to bump it up a couple actually. Could it be the rubber that was picked up from the track or what? It's coming off but seems like it'll take a while. I've put about 200 miles on them already. I cant keep riding on this tire like this though if it isn't going to get better. Jason said he'd give me another one but if this one is going to get better once the rubber comes off thats fine. I'll go out there and pick it all off, I'm just wondering if anyone has any input or idea if that would be the problem.

Sounds like it may be chunked. That or not balanced properly.

now, now, you kids play nice.

also, jason isn't fast enough to chunk a tire :lmao: , it may be out of balance. if there is a problem come see us we have more and will take care of you. unless you want to try the pirellis. they are a good tire no doubt, but we prefer the dunlops and they are less expensive.

come back to the shop with that tire, the only thing I can think of is that may be the tire that I went off the track in the kink on the front straight at VIR but I still ran 4 more laps on it and it did shake up past 130 or so just kept it pinned and I was fine

my computer crashed and i've been extremely busy, but i did stop by the shop and talked to kenny. He gave me two more tires to try out, unfortunately i haven't had the time to mount and test them. I was kind of hoping you guys were doing a track day soon that way I could mount and test them there so you'd see what I was talking about. Anyway, i should have more time coming up to at least get it mounted and see what happens. I haven't gone through all the posts yet and i know jennings has a track day every weekend but are you guys going anytime soon to roebling or jennings or anywhere for that matter?
