So you think H-D might be worried about their upcoming projected sales when they will have to meet 2007/2008 EPA Standards..... When all of these machines end up being water cooled, fuel injected and dare I mention it, quite..... Federal mandates will begin to slowly tie the noose around the neck of H-D and they will slowly come the way of new found technology only to realize this is how the rest of the worlds leading motorcycle manufacturer have been doing it for years. After all what is so much more awe inspiring than a $21,000 Harley Davidson V-rod when compared to Yamaha's V-Star warrior or Kawasaki's Mean Streak.... ? I myself can not really think of any other than........
I am not real sure if anything comes to mind ........
.................................................s till thinking.........................................
.................................................. .................................................. ........
(I'am going to think of something for sure)............................................. ..
Oh, yes, yes, hellus yes, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
The logo...............
The logo that has become an ever so enticing afrodisiac for single mom's, second marriage hunters and gold diggers the entire 50 united states over and some other places around the globe that they don't have waffle house franchises...... It's that same logo that lines up the restless thrill seeker without a prostate(you know the one that has to wear underwear on the top
and not because the thrill seeker has had surgery)
((for those of you who have had surgery and are probably lacking in the squeeze department, I am sure Akim Anastapulo will soon have a law suit pending against Harley Davidson that proves they were in fact knowledgable that their product had contributed to the growth of your prostate!!!!!!!!!............Good luck with that........))to spend money like their is no chance of waking up the next day.... Her odds of getting laid are greatly increased when she associates herself with others displaying the same brand loyal tendencies.....(also helps to contribute to CDC research post bike week)...... We have all seen these women, rubs, wannabe's, newbie's and understand they are nothing more than cattle attempting to be unique by wearing their chosen brand "Harley Davidson"......... If your companies image can automatically stir the minds of the general populous
into thinking their association with the brand can bring them sex, freedom,
envy, wealth from the association of other H-D owners and an automatic step up or down on the social class ladder you would imagine they would be fine for centuries to come..... After all as long as we are human and make purchases based on feelings or impulses the few things previously mentioned will always be a staple for H-D.....
Just like the identity so many fashion designers and retailers hope to portray. It is my opinion that H-D may finally realize they have come to manufacture a UJC "Universal Japanese Cruiser"...... With emissions forcing them to go to liquid cooling and fuel injection it would be easy to not distinguish the exhaust note of a Harley Davidson than that of the UJC......
All of H-D's after market performance part sales for road going motorcycles will no longer be as deep they have to meet the new EPA standards...Where do you think this leaves the GIANT in the next 5 years ?
Pretty much on par with the Japanese and having to adapt all of their technology and resources to stay out front..... Harley Davidson may still build a better looking motorcycle..... Engineered better, I'll doubt it.... If Harley Davidson execs actually watched the documentary of building the V-rod that was aired on the discovery channel I think I would be bailing out to.......
Time will tell, but I would predict a steep downward spiral if they don't get a handle on their new technology and marketing this new technology properly..... They will for the most part have to search for an entirely new demographic and "The Boss Man"/Chairmen are aware of that .... When the largest share holders in the company are bailing out, would you want in?
We'll see what happens, but I can not see a long term sustainable growth for this company..... Many bills will come due for them in this and the following year in addition to labor strikes here stateside..... Maybe some body is looking for an easy out ?

The toughest in would have to go to a new start up in Maryland..... Dan Fischer's Fischer Motorcycle company....... No they are not custom builder's but a manufacture of American made sportbikes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
American made sportbikes that don't use push rods........... They look great.... Something we could be proud of......
Maybe we can convince H-D to buy out Dan Fischer operation and build a decent water cooled american sportbike..... They did it with Buell and I think Dan has had much better funding and engineering on his side.... He built his entire motorcycle company to produce it's first production run of motorcycles in four years.... These things are nice and have I not mentioned they are manufactured in Maryland..... Fischer1.net......
Dan was an old friend/team mate of mine from the Aprilia cup days.... He used to own a company called copier1.....Copier1 was very sucsessfull and it has been rare that Dan has stared/started up a business that has not seen incredible growth.... He was a great racer for that series and was contesting superbikes also in his previous years before his retirement. He has done a fantastic job of putting this project together and has legitimized his position to be a true power in sport motorcycle sales all over the world.... Dan would whole heartedly admit to you that if he really knew that it could be so hard to get this bike in production he would not have started the entire project.... It was his ignorance that allowed him to pursue it deeper and deeper.....With the right people on board and sourcing the parts from all over the world, he has accomplished many dreams that so many of us would wish to fulfill.... This guy went can do, has and I hope he will make a nice mark on the middleweight sportbike sales statistics the world over.... We have an American Production Bike We Can Be Proud Of.... (Not just a Sportbike) Not just a niche machine, a sexy one with power on tap for a great price.... When sold in europe the price point will be equal to that of the Suzuki SV 650.... Dan's is a much better looking machine in every aspect.... A little more money and we can see the 1000 in due time... Fischer motorcycle company could in fact be the next big thing.......
If I owned HD stock, I'd be out of there sooner than the Buell goes pop at this year's Daytona 200......The future grew a little to close to comfort for these guys, we'll see what they have planned next, until then I know where my money would be going.................. :chin:
Dan Fischer has done in 4 years what Harley Davidson could not do in the last 40...........
So exactly where has all that money repatriated to Harley Davidson gone?
What is it that you believe they spent it on ?
New technology?
Retail merchandise production?
Labor for unions?
