quote added by Mike: Alright gentlemen (Randy and Chris), we all know you're not the best of pals. Could you at least agree to disagree, and quit publicly crapping all over each other here?

We have the off-topic forum for that, not to mention parking lots, back alleys... and maybe a $5 admission charge for each spectator???

:fencing:

Apologize to the members it was a miss-post it was meant for an individual....

Although Mike if your arbitrating, I'll take you up on the back alley or the ring I'm sure I can get Bob to setup a match at The Plex..... :evillaugh:

You guy's should be buddies instead of enemies. You two have more in common than you probably care to admit. One thing that I have come to know about Randy is that he has one of the biggest hearts in Charleston, and Chris from what I know about you is that your in that same class. Both of you are good guy's, both of you are go getters. It would be a shame if you couldn't talk your differences out. I couldn't imagine what you guy's could accomplish as allies!

Now with that being said and if you two could make a fight I have Randy favored at a 2 to 1 odds.

"For everyone not familiar with this thread"

Chris has every right to be outraged with Randy. Some of you may not be familiar with the circumstances behind it .....

Redra happens to be owner and proprietor of Wing's etc which has been very supportive of Bike nights providing a venue in which to display machines, gather like minded enthusiasts, put on side shows during bike related events and give some of our local stunters a venue to showcase their talents....

Last summer when Wing's did their "Large Bike Night" which included a live remote radio broadcast, beer truck, wet tee shirt contest, wing eating contest, 50 frenzy, Burnout contest and Stunt displays Randy had concluded that he would somehow be paid for the promotion of this event....... Randy wanted to stake claim as the producer of this event because of Thomas'(from SCRIDERS.com) absence...... Some how or another Randy felt as though he should be paid for the promotion of this event.......

Randy may have passed out a few flyers, made some posts on the internet and chatted up a few local riders.......

Randy however did not conceive this event nor did his business support it in any way..... Randy had nothing to bring to the table by means of

Custom Motorcycles to display
Stunt Riders (aiding them in their travels to be at the event)
A fleet of 50cc motorcycles in which participants could compete with
Printed Tee Shirts
Organizing the catering

and I don't think he was the one to secure the radio spots promoting the event prior to it's date........

Randy would like everyone to think that he was some kind of motorcycle events producer in our region just like Thomas....... Randy would love to stake claim that events in Charleston do not happen without his assistance.

Randy would love everyone to think that he has had nothing more than a positive influence on all bike related events here in Charleston......

Well,

NO!!!!

When Chris did not pay Randy off for his supposed promotion of the Wing's ETC bike night, Randy went on to tell other riders in the area that there would never be another one at that venue..... Once Chris began a weekly tuesday night event providing any rider with a helmet "Free Pizza" Randy would continue to mislead riders about the gathering at Wing's ETC......

Randy had for some time diversified the motorcycling community in this region by misinforming them of Chris' event....... Which in turn lost Wing's ETC a lot of potential business......

Chris would never had done anything like this to Randy's business or interests.......

Should we patronize Wing's ETC, great thing's are to come to this forum and hope for sponsorship of the Corner Junkies Motorcycle Endurance Racing Team will be all that much closer.....

Randy has never to my knowledge been willing to put up the kind of money
it takes to promote a real bike night and seems to be looking for money from a lot of people in this region for other services he provides.......

The same guy that is going to charge you $40.00 a tire change out of his garage considers balancing the tire a mere oversight........

The same guy that had to bring his machine to KWS motorsports to have a set of rear sets installed is now going to service your machine ?

The same guy that would look over my shoulder when providing service to his or other customer machines and play 10,000 questions is now going to pose himself as one of Charleston SC motorcycle Aficionado's....

I'd steer clear of the inexperience of this man as a technician......

A fence builder he may be and obviously a pretty good one......

A motorcycle technician or an events coordinator he is not .......

His attempts to start up yet another forum as a slap in the face to Thomas,Ed,Mike K and myself only proves his intentions of soaking himself in self interest .......

Where is his supposed support ?

Not here.............................................. .................................................

Randy did however show up for the Corner Junkies race team meeting, then immediately lost interest when he found out Chris from Wing's would be involved.............

Wonder why?

So much for just letting things pass and promoting motorcycles in
Charleston as after all that's what he is about right ?

Chris
02-14-2007, 11:04 AM
in all fairness....

he was paid for the first event and if you look back through the threads on scriders you will see ....

i had no problem compensating him as a promoter if he was to handle it....

i did have a problem with paying him and him not compensating his "employees" meaning all of the people who provided the necessary assistance ....

just didn't seem right....it was him that told ME and went to Ed (DSOG Ed) and said he wouldn't be involved if East Coast Stunters were associated with any bikenight anywhere.....

I've spoken to the Owners/Mangers of the other venues which have had the bikenights were Randy was involved and they went through the same situation...ironically enough that's when Hooter's was bad mouthed on scriders and cornerjunkies then Wild Wings and now Wings Etc....Ironically enough I'm the only one that actually paid him....

Chris
02-14-2007, 11:08 AM
i'm listening to Eye of the Tiger right now randy.....

DK
02-14-2007, 11:10 AM
Fact of the matter is he was looking into the promotion of a bike night for profit and not to simply gathering like minded people.....

To say the scene in Charleston Sucks because there are no supposed venues.

Not when you go in there demanding money for them !!!!!!!

Imagine where Shade Tree would be today if we actually hit up all of our customers for consultation, the aid of selling a machine or over time for services provided after hours, Sunday Services, blah, blah, blah..........

The money is obviously not why I do this !!!!!!!!

I can't count how many riders have been gifted by the the community service of Shade Tree.........

To trash mouth my services, abilities, or my associates is where I draw the line.........

I agree, Randy has had some great ideas but I've always been one of the first to question his true motives. Right Barry? Most of his ideas seemed to put him in the spotlight or make him money. Maybe I'm wrong, but he's had plenty of chances to prove me wrong, and as far as I know he hasn't.

Funny thing is, when talking to Randy, on a one-on-one basis; he's not that bad of a guy. He might be manipulating me or just maybe he just doesn't get the social aspects of a business, or for that matter, just plain friendship. I don't own a business, but I'm pretty sure friendship would be an important foundation for any successful business, especially talking about the bike biz. Basically, that's what Chris was trying to do with bike night, build a friendship with the local bike community.

I honestly don't think there is a lot of money to be made off of bikes these days, anyway. Yeah, Thomas did well, but he also rode the wave of high popularity of stunt bikes. Good on him, but that's the old days and stunters are a dime a dozen now.

Randy, just step back and enjoy scene instead of trying to create one. Trust me, in this local sport bike community there are tons of friends that will be there for a lifetime. It always been your choice to burn your own bridges.

Wow, so now im in the peak of my busiest time of the year and I dont get to chime in. Mike k can veiw me and see i havent logged on in 2 days. So you want to know whats going on? Here's what's up. Chis I agree you could probably do real good. Everything you've touched you fucked up. I just read this entire thread And let's recap.
DK I did allll events on the house. Got a couple of than you's from few. Told chris to buy me a set of race tires and I would do it there.
Ready to shake the earth? I agree with nash! I have hung up trying to help the sportbike scene in charleston. When? about 3 months ago. What has happened sence then? NOTHING! Chris logged on to scriders....site is slower than shit. Bike night? alive and well till chris is involved. {witch as promotor i take some blame for} should have known better. As for this thread chis decided to post it on myspace and i got floooooded with email. Chris has no idea how much of a ass he is making himself look. the bad news is that now that sc is stupid slow i guess it's this site's turn. I hope not.
As far as chris's deal I'll def give it some thought however I decided along time ago that buisness between me and him was over. to be honest when Randy Swan and Arron are running wings ect I'll drop in. I've know them for along time and cant wait to see them again.
As far as the charleston bike scene is concerned... You guys are on your own. sorry really but I was here to help and it has all been a real pain in the ass. Chris told everyone on sc.com he was going to step up....that was 6 months ago. by this time last year there were 6 events. As far as Im concered that is no longer my problem. If you dont like what im saying all I can say is Im sorry {barry, Kat, Mike and a few others reading} But I got other shit that takes 1/2 the time of investment for allot more apritiation. I hope you understand.
Kenny posted above....not sure who that was aimed for. however he was the guy who told me a tire machine at a track day would be awsome!
Peace
10 Speed

How about this? Once the weather gets a little better, we all work TOGETHER, and get one hell of a huge bike and car night together. It really not that hard to do once we find a place to meet, then we just tell everyone we know abou it. If the first few turn out well, then word of mouth will take over. Then we have a well oiled machine!

Anyone second this idea? Hell, maybe we can get Derek to bring out that Porsche!

I definitly second your idea Nash. I think a bike / tuner car / muscle car night would be a huge hit. I love the idea. As soon as the weather warms up we need to start making it happen. Hell why don't we start the planning now for something in lets say April? Let's do the first on on a Sat. night. That way we would have more people. Do you realize how big this thing could really be? I agree with Steve, any venue except Hooters. Nash you should start another thread with some idea that you have, etc. You would be the ideal non biased canidate to kick this thing off. Let's make this thing happen!

Nash
02-15-2007, 12:53 PM
Yeah, Barry I'll help as much as I can. Mike and I need to talk off line about how much local car members he wants on his site. I'm not saying I could bring tons of car guys here but you never know how some of this stuff could take off. If the car guys did come here, it would be up to Mike and us moderators to make sure hell doesn't break loose. Anyway, I'll make another thread since we are getting off topic.

So Randy I guess maybe I've handled this wrong.....

This thread is stupid, more stupid is the fact that everyone keeps egging the stupid thing on. The thread says "The Randy vs. Chris thread" but everyone in the freaking club is putting their two cents in. Settle the damn thang and get it over with. Either Drag race, pull your cocks out and measure them, put on some gloves and box it out, or meet at the bar over some drinks and re-unite/put it to an end as friends. Either way your both idiots for continuing this thread any further. I'm going to start my own thread, Rusty vs. Barry. And since everyone loves Barry, I'm sure I'll look like the ass-hole but who cares, everyone is still reading it!

PS Barry are the odds still at 2 to 1? I might need to put some money down.
