View Full Version : New shop tool worth it's weight in gold!!!
DK, steve.
I got my balancer in and meanwhile i was ordering it i saw a cool tool and wanted to get one. I have been using it now and cant say enough good things about it! Definatly a shop must have!!!! I will look up the url for it and post it next.
What it baicaly does is hold the bead down on the rim while you rotate the tie on your machine. No more hopping up and down on the tire trying to hold it down. Only $40 or so. but MAN what a cool idea! check it out!

Do you have this no mar machine and if not what kind do you have? I'm thinking about the no mar machine but have to save to get it.
I got the one from harbor freight. I know I know "oh shit harbor freight. However in talking with the guys on zx-10r.net they told me about the one i got. Apparently harbor freight has some quality stuff in there catalog. I went and ordered it and told the manager of the store that fo $1200 i wasnt going to put up with the typical harbor freight breaking crap. So he asked me to come up $100 and he went down $100 and for $1300 I got the tire changer and a 5 year warrantee. to where if the machine breaks they come HERE and fix it. OR replace it. {no down time}
I did however get the no mar wheel balancer. I like it... I think im going to order the larger cones though. It gives you the option of doing larger axle bikes. I REALLY did my homework here before i ordered. The only draw back is the harbor freight machine runs on 220v so i had to get a electrician to run some new wires for the garage.
I've bought several things from Harbor Freight and I've never had any problems. Matter of fact, I just ordered a low-profile 3,000 lbs floor jack this morning.
Jesus.....that things for retards that have never working in the auto industry. I worked on cars in dealerships and for Firestone for 5 years and never seen such a stupied tool. But then again we were trained on how to use the tire changer. :shrug:
If you get 2 of them there silver bar thingys that come with the changer thats all you need. No need to jump up and down like a retard at the special olympics. :wall:

That thing looks like a great way to chip someones chrome and/or powdercoat. If you're real good, you can literaly spin the tire on the rim. no tools neccessary.
nope it's made of plastic and rubber.
