I'll be working in Bethesda, MD, just outside of DC. Pretty cool, really, since I've driven through DC around two dozen times, but never had a chance to stop. I expect to be there for 6+ weeks.

Every vendor that I have talked to said that they were asking outrageous booth fees. People even commented that if things continued like they were last year that they wouldn't be back. I don't have a clue if this is why the whole thing got canceled or not, but I'd be willing to bet that this didn't help. Besides the whole I'm a Dr. and I have a chopper thing is starting to die down now anyway. The fad is dying and you will see more real bikers on the road now days I hope.
Don't get me wrong, I love choppers and most other motorcycles. It just kills me to see a guy who just bought a 40 k plus bike, with his weekend beard, and his badd black leather outfit to think he is a hardcore biker. That type just doesn't have a clue. It's my opinion that this makes up a lot of the chopper crowd.

On the news last night it was reported that the guy couldn't get insurance. There is no such thing that you cannot get insurance. Someone will provide insurance coverage on any and everything. The question is will you like the price?

Screw the Heritage! Bike Week is still on!
Body: I have now heard from 3 or 4 people that for some top secret reason bike week was canceled... this is BS Can 1 guy cancel Daytona? Can 1 guy Cancel Myrtle beach? We as the local bikers of this town should be willing to pick up the slack. Lets look at it. whats a bike week..REALLY couple of bar's make millions.... most cities have some sort of race. so we need a race track. Time to talk to some strips. great places to ride. Welcome to Charleston! So am I shooting for the stars here? maybe but to say 1 man can shut down bike week is insane. Joe Riley tried it last year AND HE'S THE MAYOR!!!!! didn't work. So who's with me? I'll give all the time I can to make it happen! I've done allot smaller events than this but I think this is what Charleston needs! How about a bike week that I don't have to pay to go to!!! $15??? hell the fair is only $5!!!! I will get some ideas from most people but want to see the response first! Go big or stay home I say!
P.S. a great opportunity to STICK IT TO THE MAN!!!!!
