View Full Version : Almost like new!
Woo hoo! I just put on a new seat cover, and installed a new Givi windshield on the FJR.
Damn, the bike almost looks new just because of that shield. The old shield had turned yellow, and nearly opaque, so the new, crystal-clear piece of lexan (or whatever it is), makes a huge difference. Some elbow grease and the rest of the bike could look new.
Yep, I'm happy. All this for just over $100 :wtg:
ZX-14 in the future?
Why not the VFR 800 ?
Just buy the Goldwing for our Coffee Cup Holder Cup Races .......

I've thought about the 1400 a little bit, but would have to ride one first.
Hmm, the VFR lost my favor long ago. It's cramped, slow, uncomfortable, relatively expensive, outdated, and did I mention slow and uncomfortable? Seriously, my 954 was a better touring bike than the VFR. Besides the funky engine and SS swingarm, I don't get the appeal at all
Weeellll... it's too early for a Gold Wing... probably... might have a look anyways... ask me the same question in a few years, and the answer will almost certainly be yes. Although, if I ride the SMR locally, and have a Wing for longer distances... mmm... naaah, probably too soon for one.
All the bikes need a good "quick saddle" adjustment mod kit. Convert even the most aggressive litre bike into a comfortable all day long touring bike. Patent pending... :shhh:
DK?

The 929 and 954 were all-day-comfortable for me out of the box. My only complaint was the limited range, but then again even my FJR's 250+ mile range was inadequate sometimes. I even bought a spare tank for the FJR, with the intentions of having it enlarged by at least another two gallons, giving it 350+ of range.
Mike I am not sure if there is a charging system for the SMR strong enough to Keep your DVD, GPS, Laptop, Cell Phone, PDA, Ipod, on board camera, etc, etc, ........
