LET'S DO IT.

Mike
03-30-2007, 10:40 AM
I've done this once for a friend. It involved cleaning the car, as well as bringing some cleaning supplies (for touch-up of the front fascia and wheels/wells after travel), and not hauling ass (to reduce the amount of cleaning after getting there) to the location.

So... when, and more importantly, where? Are there any seriously-industrial looking places around here? Any nice gravel pits? Any other suggestions for locations? Will the weather cooperate?

Nash
03-30-2007, 12:45 PM
It's hard to beat downtown pictures this time of the year. There's so many background drops, it's crazy. Bridges, bay, old homes and industry.

I say get the bikes involved, also. I'm sure some would like a nice professional picture of their streetbike taken by Mike.

Kenny, I'll get hold of Charles and Allen. Anyone have Richie's number?

I'm scared at the thought of using Spray polish on the cars finish to remove a layer of quarry dust.

Talk about fine scratches all over the finish.

Dave, the Corvette club is having a lunch and meeting at Logan's on Sunday...Is this something you would be interested in checking out? Lunch is at 2 and meeting is at 3. One of the Club members was at the Orangeburg Auto-X and told me that non-members are welcome to attend to check it out.

That C63 is pretty bad. Has the same motor as my car just slightly detuned. But you can mod that C series to be more that 500 to the wheel..all motor. Check out MBworld.org....The M6 was the second BMW I looked at and drove the first was the New M3 2-door...I just really liked the lines of the CLS.

Mike I had mine up to 155k/hr somewhere close by and it still kept pulling. My car has the 030 package. That's the LSD, bigger brakes and a rev limit to 186k/hr. If you get the standard AMG package you top out at 155

very nice.. which model did you get?

Err... umm... model? Maybe you mean generation - the AP1; the AP2 (2.2l) only revs to 7K. I am considering getting on 06+ to get all the latest doo-dads, but it'll be a while before I get serious about it... besides, I still really, really, really want an NSX :D

Dave, while in your police cruiser, do you ride by a building with big windows to see your reflection?

yesterday, while on cainhoy road, i stopped a vehicle and she decided to pull into an abandoned parking lot (apparantly she cared about my safety.) when i looked into the glass and saw a reflection, i chuckled a little bit, snapped a pic and sent her on her way with a warning. but dave, this one's for you.

Yep... now what you guys could come up with in the meantime is some good locations. Some nice, run down industrial areas would be good, scenic roads (including dirt plantation roads lined with trees), cobblestone streets, etc.

The shot was done with me steering the car left. the car was not on and was being pushed from behind. The camera was on a rig mounted to the rear quarter panel while Clint walked with his camera and fired off several shots.. the rig was photoshopped out and the one guy on the right side pushing..

Funny thing is, and I'm sure Mike K. can attest to this, some of the best shots happen that way.
