Holiday travel ideas for the hard core touring enthusiast ....
I had inquired about this ride in Namibia which is quite cheap when you consider it runs for 13 days......
The airfare is not included in this price quote but have a look into what you can do out there on a motorcycle .....
Many tour companies offer rental machines, insurance, catered meals, support vehicles, hotel stays......
Many of the touring enthusiasts are a free spirited bunch traveling by means of how they feel...... Without constraints on time or a mediocre take on an actual destination..... Which is exactly what draws so many of us in when we choose to use our vacation time to genuinely escape......
Sometimes in making these escapes we can all look back in retrospect how the series of events could have fallen into place a little better than were planned...... Having a very minimalistic plan is one part of the enjoyment...... Being prepared for anything and everything is an impossible feat considering the storage capacity on most machines...... A solid back up plan is always fixed in some quadrant inside your skull and hopefully always under a helmet when riding in foreign territory.....
I had considered taking this trip for my 30th birthday......

Instead of Touring Namibia by Motorcycle, myself and Headhunter ended up on a few beaches in the Caribbean..... Cheap, convenient airfare out of Charlotte to a destination where the rum is cheaper than water !!!!!! Where I continued my research of the FSM Gospel......
I would later discover some information on a cruise ship that runs out of Miami that allows you to bring your motorcycle on board and let's you tour each point of destination on the cruise with you own machine..... You load up in Miami at the port and disembark the ship at each island destination with your chosen two wheeled form of transportation to enjoy the island as you very well please..... How cool is that !!!!!!! A comfy bed to sleep in, regular entertainment, food at all hours, pool, ocean breeze, multiple bars all filled with other like minded motorcycle enthusiasts, an ever changing
landscape to view each day, can it get much better ?
Who knows as I have yet to do my first international motorcycle tour...... I have only dreamed of many and have only currently started looking into which ones I think I would most enjoy....
The idea of doing it with a purpose built business is real attractive in my opinion when not familiar with all the local laws, points of interest, terrain, fuel stops, not having to worry about how and where I would receive medical attention if needed in addition to being a little thrifty when group discounts can be applied......
With all of that being said, if you have had previous experience with an
international tour company or even any tour groups or guides here stateside please let it be known in this thread..... Share with us your pictures and experience from the ride......
