View Full Version : Bleeding your brakes
A good simple explanation of how to bleed the brakes on your motorcycle:

Speed bleeding screws/bolts can be very helpful for this.
just had to bleed the brakes on my KLR. I replaced the lines and of course that requires bleeding them.
I went to stainless-braided lines and of course I always use speed bleeders. Even so, the front brake was a bastard- it's a known issue on a KLR.
I very much recommend use of a vacuum bleed kit when it comes time to bleed any hydraulic system. It took what I tried to do over 3 hours and did it in 5 minutes. I have lots of mechanical experience as well, so I'm not just completely clueless. :)
If it gives you an idea of my mechanical aptitude, I built my own suspension lift for my Cherokee and am presently converting it from gasoline to run on waste vegetable oil (replacing the gas engine with a diesel).
