I talked to Barry today and we are planning a trip down Oct 14th or 15th. I want to get a lot of people to go because obviously it is more fun and no one should go to the track alone just in case you were to wreck. Anyway post up if you think these are good dates and if you are interested.

Let me know when you get the date nailed down, and I'll add it to the calendar and spread the word.

My may be my last chance for a track day this year, and my last chance for a New Year's resolution. I finally have a track bike :w00t:

Which track?

Burns, you need to read the subject title. It is called Jennings track day but if you need directions I can help with that. I just like giving people shit when the oppurtunity arises. It is also going to be $145 if you wait to pay at the track or $125 if you pre-register. Here is the link also for those that would like to know where it is and track rules http://www.jenningsgp.com

Well it's a done deal. We are going to go the weekend of Oct. 15/16th for sure. We will plan to leave out on Sat. afternoon, ride on Sunday and return home that evening. So everyone, please pass the word. It will be a lot of fun. Right now we are looking to have at least 3 or 4 first timers there. First timers always come back geeked up. I know that I did.

I now my first track day was addicting. Even though I flipped a 10,000 dollar bike over and over and over. I still left waiting for the chance to do it again. If I can get rid of the f3's and get in to a 6rr before the 15. I will deffinantly be their. It was cool seing all of you guys their for the ccs race and I would love to actually get out their with some of you to learn a few things... Plus pitting under the champion yamaha tent makes you feel like a factory rider!!!!!!!

I just posted this same thing on scriders.com. I had planned to go down on friday and ride on saturday but i'm flexible for sure. I have to talk to some people about getting some leathers. I talked to the people at jenningsgp and they'll give us a 25% discount. $110 a rider. for the members at scriders.com I planned on getting the sign up sheet and waivers and all that BS prior to leaving so it wont take as long at registration. Maybe we can merge and go the same day? I also was thinking of staying at budget lodge there or something and trying to get a goup rate there too, or the campground. What do y'all think?

Sounds like a good plan, but my bike still won't be ready until sometime this winter. 110 bucks isn't too bad.

I think that you da man! Hey let's all get together and do it on the same day. You said that your flexible, so plan to go down on Sat. afternoon and ride on Sunday. We have a few people that work a half day on Saturday, so they would miss out. We can all get together and convoy down to Macon, GA.on that Sat. afternoon. I usually stay at the Days Inn - Lake Park,GA. The Phone # is 229-559-0229. Tell them you are a racer and that you want the racers price. Three people can fit into one room. I think the price is around $39. That's only $13 bucks a head.. Once we arrive, we can plan to hit one of the local bars to get our eat & drink on. There is one bar close to the hotel that has karoke on Saturday nights, but there's several others around as well. Hey, can you do a roll call on scriders to see how many people are going? I will do the same here. It looks like we will have another big turnout, just like Deals Gap this past spring.

Ok .....

Here this , count myself and Tyson butler in ....
The 250 GP squad .... Hope that Tyson can keep both wheels on the track this time.... He also has a little bad ass SV you all will have to check out....

I am looking for a little redemption form my last trip .... 2 year old tires and one old ass top end.... Some new parts and a good gear box and a lot of laps on the stopwatch .... Let's see ...

Does anyone know what the "Real outright lap record is at jennings"....

I have heard a 1:16.6 , I think it's a bit faster than that .... Sorrenson was in the 15's on a 250 if I remember right ....

Trey Yonce won the unlimited Grand Prix race at Jennings GP during the CCS Florida/Southeast regional event on his bad azz R6! Yonce set a lap record for a CCS event. His time was 1:17.09 the track record was 1:17.101
Way to go Trey!!!!

ok hears the deal When Chuck sorenson set the first lap record back when the track opened he did it on a 250 and he was in the high 15. Not to long ago I think last season Some guy broke sorensons record with a r1 and it was low 15's that's ROOLIN.

mandingo
10-05-2005, 02:41 PM
1:15.2, robert jensen on an r1. derek is fully capable of that, but he may need more than a weekend to do it. best trey has done is 1:17.01, me a 1:18.3 as well as matt and we have been racing all season!!! DK can do it, but will be tuff!!!

CT954RIDER
10-05-2005, 03:53 PM
Maybe all of us on the forum should chip in and help Derek do it. I mean come on guys wouldn't it be cool to say that we all helped him set the record at jennings and bring the title home to Charleston?

DK
10-06-2005, 09:21 PM
Thanks CT ......
I think madingo is correct when in saying it would take more than a weekend.... Everything needs to be just right.... I won't start with excuses , but a few things that need to be done before I could take an overall track record.... A 1:15 would require a little more seat time at the track and some serious traction/power combo.... The GP bikes can carry lots of corner speed. They just don't rip that hard off the bottom end... Some of the problems I have in the slow stuff can be cured with the Tansmission. I still need the 90hp at the rear wheel to hang in there with the likes of Sorenson and Jensen down the back straight.... No amount of money is going to put 90 at the wheel, just a lot of dyno time and development.... It is plausible though.... A lap record on a 83hp motor would be pretty damn cool...

Because riding a Four Stoke around that place is like taking a piggy back ride on some fat chic.... It just doesn't feel right.... They/She might be hot/fast , but she/they are still fat ....

I picked up some race plastics, hopefully they'll be here by the weekend, still need to get a stay though. I've got my bike torn apart getting ready to adjust the valves, synch the throttle bodies, and put on these plastics when they get here, i'll be ready to go.

What time are we, or you guys, or whoever planning on heading down. Kenny you mentioned something about taking the big trailer and riding together? I dont know, what everyone plans on doing for paying but like i mentioned before I got everyone a discount to $110 bucks if we go together or say we're a group. I have a full size ext cab truck too if that helps. I was planning on taking 2 bikes in the back of it, and pulling a trailer for anyone else but it doesn't matter whatever's clever. I'm just ready to go.

If we are going to have a group price I think that jamie should be notified of all who will be participating in the DKF2 track day at jennings. 110$ sounds a lot better to me than 145$. Let's do a head cound and figgure out who will be going and who will be needing a ride. I am sure a few of you guys can pitch in an split the gas. I am going to have to come down as earlie as I can on Sunday morning. See you guys at the track. Hopefully I will get to improve my lap times on the new bike. I am so happy I am going to finally be on something newer than a 95 f3 Maybe my laptimes will improve due to the new equipment. Anyway I want' in on the group price!! :wtg:

Well I got the group rate as an SCRiders.com thing but I dont think it really matters, they said as long as I had more than 10 people it'd be $110 a piece. And honestly I dont think 10 people are going to come from that site. So I can talk to them again and say it's a DKF2/SCRiders.com thing. I dont think it's really going to matter as long as there are over 10 people at sign in time

If you talk to jamie at jenningsgp 386-938-1110 just let her that we have a group of 10 or more riders willing to participate. I am sure she will not mind who we are or where we come from as long as there is a group of 10 or more of us willing to hand them all that money!! So how about it guys Let's get a head count.
Barry please use your marketing skills and round all of us up. We need contact with other to get this thing worked out. I want' this to be a kick but Day for Charleston riders at Jennings. Who knows "THE KING" just might break the record.

I am sure she will not mind who we are or where we come from as long as there is a group of 10 or more of us willing to hand them all that money!! So how about it guys Let's get a head count.

Alright guy's like Big Ben said It's time to firm up our plans. We really need to be sure on exactly who's going and who's backing out. Right now I have on the list the people who have indicated that there going, come hell or high water. Now I could propably make another list of the wishy washy hem hawing club who is still saying I might go. Well experience has told me to never count them in. So, I'm looking for the people that are ready to go and ready to sign up. So if you or your buddy is 100% sure that your going, then please add your name to the list, or say Barry add me to the list.

Now who is going to be driving and who needs a ride? Right now here are the people who I know that are driving. If you or your bike needs a lift, now's the time to speakup. We can really save on petrol if we get together. I know there's a couple of big trailers out here some where, so speak up if you can get your hands on one.

When do we signup? Thursday will be the day that we've all looked at the weather and were pretty sure that no hurricane's are coming. So everyone needs to call Jamie at jenningsgp @ 386-938-1110. Tell her that your with the DKF2/SCRiders group. The discounted rate will be $110 thanks to Brandon.

Room and board? Well we will need to make some hotel accomodations. I usually stay at the Days Inn, Lake Park Ga.. This is 10 minutes from the track. Three to Four people can fit into one room.

So here's the deal. I think that we need to get together this week to sit down and figure out the fine details. How about we meet at Wild Wings in North Chucktown @ 6:30 on Wednesday.
