CornerJunkies.com Auto-X racing team????

Figured I would start this thread to see if there is interest in forming a sort of Auto-X racing team supporting Cornerjunkies. I realize we don't have a lot of cages on here, but this forum is all about the "corners" and Auto-X does test your technical abilities to see if you are as good as you think you are. I for one would volunteer as one car. I'd like to see Dave (nash) come forward and get into it too.

I'm already the points leader after two events in the Super Stock class of the SCCA SCR-79 region. Maybe if there was a few of us representing CJ...we could attract more of the local Auto-Xer's to our forum.

I also, would like to also start competing in high speed Auto-X with the NCCC (national corvette council). I know they have an event next month in Sanford, NC and I'm really considering going. The NCCC auto-X's are corvette only and are designed for higher speeds than the normal Auto-X events you see through out the region. Think of it as an in between low speed auto-X and road racing, except you don't have top worry about crashing into other competitors. Of course NCCC is just Corvette only.

Anyway, let's hear your opinions.

Just like marketing, it's all about exposure. There is a few of us that have Auto-X capable cars...Nash, Mandingo, Charles, and of course me. I wouldn't be surprised if there are also others, I just don't know who. It just takes seeing if we can get people to do it.

They make awesome Auto-X cars. They sit just one class lower (A-stock) than the C5 & C6 vettes (Super Stock) in stock condition. Though In the SCR region, they are probably superior to the vettes because our course designer seems to design courses that benefit smaller cars more.

I've been prodding a little to get a more vette suitable course in the SCR but it will probably take finding a new location LARGE location to adequately make it possible. We used to be able to use the "black lake", which is the Michelin plants testing site in the upstate. But for some reason unknown to me, Michelin has stopped allowing use of the site to car clubs. I never did get to run on the "black lake", but I heard it was about as perfect as they come for site venue and the perfect condition of the surface.
