Are there any more female riders in here besides Kristin and myself? Ladies only please regardless of your avatar not to point any fingers (JASON!). For further deterrents against testosterone, I suggest we start posting female eye candy! Whooohooo!

Kat this is an old thread, thought I would help you revive it though.
Do you ladies want your own forum, or is having your own threads enough for now?
DragonFZ6
03-09-2006, 05:04 PM
I don't think there is enough activity for a female forum. I am happy with a thread, for now. Maybe keep that one for a near future thing. If/when there is a lot of response then a forum would be good. Thanks Mike :smile

Kat, how can we get the lady riders in here? Let them know this is us only. I don't know any female riders but you. I think Red will pop in, but I haven't seen anyone else (Sorry, I don't remember her name, the lady with the red R6).
Ideas?

That is right!! Thank you. I am bad with names, especailly when I have no face to put with it.
So, ladies, do you get hit on a lot when you ride? I have been out on my bike three days and all three days I had at least 2 guys hit on me...lol.

I hear that happens to a lot of ladies out on the road. If you are not afraid of handguns, go get one. Take the class so you can learn how to use it and get the carring permit.
Just be safe out there when your alone or with others.

okay i picked Champion Yamaha as an end point since I see that a lot posted on this forum. It said it would be 4 hours 30 minutes for me to get there.
I-77 S for 119 mi then I-26 E for 100 mi
I hope those roads have a little bit of twist to them. Otherwise I might be chicken and slap my bike in the back of my truck.
I just had a whole conversation...with myself. Great, glad I got that question answered. Thanks to google.com

Hey Kristen, lol, that was pretty good. I am not sure I can have a conversation with myself...lol..jk. You really gonna come down and ride with us? That is awesome. Yamaha is close enough. No 26 is pretty straight, boring. It is hilly for a little bit, but nothing major. I look forward to it. Kat and I are riding Sunday with a few guy friends of ours. I am excited. Well, hope to see you.
Ride safe and have fun
Kristen your going to want to exit at 208 on I26 that cuts about 30min off your google trip. that is northwoods mall that is where we meet.

I've been riding on and off since I was 17 years old. I got into bikes on my own so I didn't know a single person with a bike when I got my first bike. I rode by myself for a good while. I moved to Charlotte later on and found some people to ride with. I actually got into stunt riding and traveled all up and down the east coast doing shows and competitions. It was fun but it was only 2-up stunts. So I got tired of not being able to do it on my own. I quickly fell out of that and got into the turns. I didn't really take a twisty road until last summer. haha Wound up doing my first track day in October and was hooked. I can't wait to go back!! I know I'm slow as junk out there on the track but hey, gotta start somewhere. I am just taking my time and trying to learn one thing at a time. For my next track day I really need to work on body positioning because mine surely does suck!
Oh I ride a 2004 Yamaha R6. I'll try to post some pictures.

Kat you got the right idea...slumber party.
zx10r, it is ok, I am just giving you a hard time. None of the other guys are staying out either, lol.
Kristen, thanks for the pics. They are awesome. I know I am no where near as good of a rider as you but I would still love to have a huge all female ride. You look like you are having a great time out there. Kat just rode her first track day too.
I figured I asked how you started I need to tell you how I did...lol.
I have a friend who has a Harley (I know, I know) and he took me for a ride. Well, I had the best time ever, it was so free. I decided I wanted to learn. So, my brother called me about two weeks later and told me he saw a bike for sale, and do I want to go look at it. Ended up getting it, it is a 82 Yamaha Virago. Runs perfectly and was never dropped. (My ex ended up dropping it after we bought it, one of the many brilliant things he did) So anyway, been riding that since October 2004. I have a 3 year old so it makes it hard to get away to ride, especially since the bike was in the garage at my mom's house. Anyway, so I decided to get my own bike, new since I have a little skill riding now, as opposed to when I got the Virago. So, last Tuesday a couple of friends, Robbie and Mike, and I went to the Champion Yamaha dealership so I could pick up my 2006 Yamaha FZ6. I will put some pics up as soon as I get them. Mike had the camera, got to get the pics from him still. So, I have been riding and loving my new bike. It will def go, lol. Kat and I are going this Sunday on what started out as her and I and is quickly becoming a big group of us. I don't mind though. We are hitting a curvy road for me to practice. I plan on spending a lot of time learning my bike and furthering my riding skills. We will have to do a Yamaha run one time, just because I am meeting so many people with one. My friend Mike rides an 05 Yamaha R6. Kat has an 05 Yamaha FZ6. Her sis has an 06 Yamaha FZ6. Rachael has a red R6. That is just who I have met so far, lol. Anyway, this has gotten kind of long.

Get those pictures up soon. I'm a picture freak. I take pictures of everyone and anything. haha Can't wait to see the pictures of your new ride.
Sounds like you guys have a few girls down there that ride. Awesome that they ride yamaha ;) My best friend and roomie rides a 04 GSXR 600. Oddly enough, her name is Kristin too. It is cool because we are both named Kristin, both have bikes, both into cars, both total gear heads, and both light-weights. HA We are cheap drunks ;) Too bad I can't bring her with me to SC. She works on the weekends. You guys will have to meet her sometime though. She's a blast to ride with.
You and Kat have fun on Sunday. Be safe! Oh and take some pictures. :)
Can't wait to meet yall.

Hey Kristin.
I don't know if you heard. I went down Sunday. Only a couple of bruises and sore muscles. I landed in the grass by the side of the road. Thank god for fuel injection. My bike was sitting at about a 130 degree angle, almost upside down on the side of the slope. It got a couple small cracks. Almost invisible. I am actually happy. Kat thinks I am insane, lol. She said she has never seen anyone get up from a spill and smile within a minute. I was just grateful the bike is ok and so am I. I will put up some pics, as soon as I figure out how to, lol.

More On "National Female Ride Day" May 4 In Canada
Apr 18, 2007
From a Press Release
Since last month's announcement of the first NATIONAL FEMALE RIDE DAY, women from across Canada and the United States have been contacting each other, as well as campaign organizer Vicki Gray, to make arrangements to be on their motorcycles on
May 4th. NATIONAL FEMALE RIDE DAY, now slotted each year for the first Friday in May, appeals to females who ride, own or have access to a motorcycle. Friday, May 4 asks women to get on their bikes and "JUST RIDE". No matter what style of motorcycle -- sport, cruiser, scooter, dual purpose, street, off-road or dirt -- NATIONAL FEMALE RIDE DAY aims to highlight the many numbers of females currently active in
motorcycling and heighten awareness of female riders, inspiring those who have not yet taken it up.
Not surprisingly to Vicki, NATIONAL FEMALE RIDE DAY has found support among riders, dealers and manufacturers in Canada, but she was very pleased to see so much support coming from across the border. For 2007, the event remains a national event, but as intended, 2008 will include an even broader community.
"The aim of the campaign is to raise female rider awareness, promote those who already ride, while simultaneously encouraging other females to take up the activity," says Vicki Gray, campaign organizer. "The 'day' places a spotlight on female riders," she adds.
Vicki Gray is a motorcycle racer, instructor, and coach, who has been riding since 1983. Originally, from Ontario, she got hooked on motorcycling when taking the rider training course in Nova Scotia, motivated by the need for an outlet away from her demanding career at Revlon International. Since then, she has taught motorcycle riding to thousands of beginners, trained police in the Caribbean (Netherlands Antilles), raced throughout Europe, co-instructed with MotoGP racer Katja Poensgen, partnered events with famed TT Circuit Assen, and co-hosted a television program for the Discovery Channel.
Not long after relocating to Europe, Vicki started competing in motorcycle racing and founded RaceGirl Motorsport in 1999, a training and support community headquartered in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. She also built renowned global brand RaceGirl and its popular website (www.racegirlmotorsport.com) -- the first of its kind depicting female
motorcycle riders in a sportive, strong and feminine role. Her courses, track days, workshops and rider training methods encourage women motorcyclists and continue to develop the female riding community.
Vicki has returned to Canada taking her 24 years of first hand experience and applying it to an even broader mission with the introduction of her new brand MOTORESS, providing resource, training and support as well as sustaining a community where females can flourish in all diversities of motorcycling.

Thanks!!! :)
