The Honda shop had an unveiling of the new Ducati Hypermotard. I took the opportunity to break in my new camera.

or require the valves to be adjusted..... and if you REALLY cared about that 2.9 second 0-60 figure.. it can do it quite easily... although 0-60 numbers are stupid.. races are usually for a distance, not a speed number.

but thats a stupid debate anyway.. if the bike is too much, just wait 8 months.. then they start selling used ones, and they're thousands less.. lol.

Thats right races are usually for a distance, like a quarter mile. and anyone how is any good at drag racing will tell you that 60 foot time is extremely important.

90% of the race is in the 60ft.

thats why 0-60 times dont mean shit.

for example, the vette has a tall rear gear. why? because it can hit 60mph in first.
if you can hit 60 without shifting, it lowers your 0-60 times a tad... magazines swoon.. cars sell.

if you put some real gears in the car, it goes faster, 60fts faster.. but you shift JUST before 60.. and that time goes UP.


0-60 is for magazines and salesmen.. (so its ok if you use it.. :smilebig: ) but they arnt relevent to actual racing.

this question is so randomly off topic, im not sure how to answer it.

i could go the reasons a stock corvette is not a drag car:
because a stock corvette cant 60ft worth a shit.


or i can go on the obvious:
its a stock CAR vs a motorcycle.


i could go the "i know a guy" route:
i know a guy that has a vette faster then you can ever get that duc to go.


or i can go the smartass route...
and thats when i point out that neither the vette nor the duc is intended as a quarter mile racer.
the vette outright sucks at putting the power to the pavement, and the duc just wants to wheelie.. neither can put the power to the ground and neither are intended for straight line racing.
you can argue various aspects until the cows come home.. X is fast on this, Y is fast on this... X mods will make it beat Y, Y mods will then make it beat X. all accumulating into a pointless conversation about nothing.

fact is, vette or duc, they're both just toys to play around with... you're not going to be the fastest rider or driver of either one.. they both suck to live with as daily drivers... and if you count used vettes, they both cost the same.. so just go buy whatever one makes you happy.. or both....
(and if you decide to get a duc.. buy it from Jason.. if you want a used vette, call me...)
