First off, that's what you get for taking it to Rockhill, or where ever you took it. Second, hopefully they didn't mess it up too badly.

Anyway, how could they mess it up? I thought you were only putting on a PC3 and getting a custom map?

10-06-2005, 08:12 AM
its along story it is in scrider under charleston under tonight. and yea your right all i was getting was a pc3 and a map.

Randy, I just read your post at scriders. I still don't understand how they did that much damage by hooking up a PC3 wrong and doing a dyno run. I've never seen damage caused by improperly installing a PC3. Yeah, it may run really bad hooked up to the wrong injectors, but it shouldn't do damage. Did you try to put everything back to stock and try it from there?

Nash

Something is really wrong with that place if they can't hook up a PC3 properly to beging with. What a bunch of morons.

I really don't understand how this could happen. Anyway you could have installed the pc 3 at your house and loaded the map for your exhaust in about 15 minutes. No expert is needed for this. Are you sure thats all they were doing?

he said they BEAT on a sensor? that is actually part of the throttle body, and they put a scratch on his tank. I dont know about all that, i could see them being incompetent but not beating on someones bike. I dont know.

That's exactly what I don't get? Why would anyone touch the gas tank to install a pc3. Aren't most sportbike efi systems under the seats? Another thing, why would you mess with any sensors? All you usually need to do is plug in the pc to that bikes efi management system. Then you simply hook your couputer to the pc and down load a map or make changes to a map. It's that simple. No need to touch any sensors or any of that non sense. How could such a simple job go way into left field? A piece to the puzzle seems to be missing!

FWIW, my 929, 954, and FJR all had to have the tank lifted off to get to the FI wiring.

...but from what I've read, I wouldn't let whoever worked on that bike change by blinker fluid.

ya got me, i mean i dont know why they'd even have the airbox off either to get to the throttlebodies in the first place, you can still get to whatever FI wireing without taking the airbox off..

My RC51 was easy. All I did was plug the Power Commander into the main wiring harness. On my CBR I had to plug the PC3 into the lower 4 injectors which took a bit longer. Placing the PC3 on the upper injectors wouldn't damage anything it would just run like shit. Nothing difficult but took about 45 mins to do the whole job including hooking up the laptop and installing the map. I did have to lift the tank to get to them.

just read the post on sc, what a crock of shit!!!!!!! you dont plug into any sensors, there is a clamp that goes on a certain wire (no cutting involved) and a plug into the pc3. either you are making excuses or you are being seriously taken advantage of by beaufort and lukes as a combined effort. no way that much damage happen from a dyno run.

dude you are fucking hilarious! thanks, i needed that.

well he ended up getting a free pc3 from them for scratching his tank, and they are paying the bill over at lukes. so all he really has to do is download the map from the internet for his exhaust and call it a day but i'm sure he'll pay for it somewhere

10-06-2005, 06:33 PM
Well its done but sooo many questions... umm ok the scrath happened when they were hooking up the dyno. had to get under tank.
ummm 2nd it was beufort Power commander recomended too...!
Sum= The bike is fixed and the mapping will probably happen at KWS tomorrow.
Nash yes we put everything back to stock and the FI light was still on.
Sum again= the plugs are under the tank
Kenny you would be amazed yes there that stupid I have witnesses. they rode with me.
Brandon the sencor was the sub throtle sensor. This is attatched to the throtlebodies and cannot be bought seperatly.
Kenny again the clamp is for the tack.

Ok here's what we got They paid the bill at lukes. bikes fixed. Chris did it. Umm the sub position sensor has a harness on it that is hard to get to. They 1 had the wrong harness.2 instead of removeing 2 difficult screws they beat on it. {I have no idea } well this damaged it. It is repaired and they paid for it. NOW they want me there tomorow to Map it. IM ON MY WAY! WTF ever. KWS will be getting it. DK and chris are done now Keven gets her and This will all be over. Hey kenny If im so full of shit why dont you call Southern Scooters Beufort Sc Numbers in my truck if you need it. The guys name is stich. Kinda got some mixed feelings here I mean they paid for everything they damaged but I wouldnt and am not Takeing it there Even if its free.

why dont you just download your map from the exhaust website or pc3 website or where ever, they are all over the internet? Download it and install it. there's a billion bikes out there with the same pipe and tre setup as yours. Get it for free, take their word on the horsepower info and wait to spend the extra money on the dyno when you do something real to your bike. That''s what I would do. It's not like your bike is special and you need it specifically tuned to your engine... it's stock. Just makes sense.

Honestly, a custom map is the way to go even if Kevin is big $$. I got my map off the net and it's still running a bit rich. I've tried about five maps so far and it can be a real pain in the ass.

Brandon your so right, but it's possible to gain that extra 1/8 hp on the top end with a dyno run. I think that the zx 10 will need every ounce of hp to out run the little gixxer 750. Unfoutunately the 10 will need way more than a pc3 to even come close to out running Now what if Jason decides to get a pipe and pc3? Oh my god!

it will be a miracle if he will get 5hp out of that pc3 over the zero map settings i have seen bikes that at zero they were as high as you would get hp wise 90% of the time you will only see the powercurve smooth out over hp gains

10-06-2005, 09:48 PM
so with that said i hope that randy you get more than the pc3 maybe a piston kit or something

10-07-2005, 01:28 AM
I have to get a custom one done because There isnt one on the pc3 site or zx10r.net for the serpent micron. the only one is for europe. And if you pull a map off the internet You might get one submitted from a guy in the Rockeys. The air pressure is different.

Hey Randy you know that were just messing with you, right. Anyway's Nash is right. Getting your bike mapped on the dyno is the best thing you can do. It is a little expensive for the small gains that you get. Some bikes need it and others dont. Like Allen's 750, he installed the pipe and pc3 with the zero map and the darn thing is like perfect. I was like Nash always playing with the maps to get it better. One thing about getting Kevin to do it is that you know it's right, end of story. Good Luck with your dyno run.

10-07-2005, 08:32 AM
thanks I will be there today. haveing all kinds of fun.
BTW i havent taken any offence to any of this. really just people asking questions. It is hard to believe they were that dumb. how do you think i felt when they had my bike? I was trying to remember all the dip shit comments made that day....
1 Thats an inline 4 right?
2 one more class and were certified to use this.
3 is this thing like a rc51? we've done one of those.

There was more but i think my memory has blooked them to deter a shooting spree lol oh yea and all of those... they were serious as a heart attack.

oh here we go. 163 at the wheel with dot's, 158 with slicks. but that's not my point. my point is you are gonna need more than hp to go faster than me. why are we having this conversation? you are not faster than me in anything. i am usually pretty modest and keep my mouth shut about this "faster than you shit". i usually just let my actions speak for themselves. so i tell you what, let's settle this. i have extra equipment so there are no excuses. i'll go to the drag race and i'll bring the race bike. bike is bone stock and just has a power commander and pipe (ask your "homeboy") we will drag race, woopity fucking do. then i am going to pay for track day personally and tow your bike in the trailer for you, pay for your gas money, even give you a set of GOOD take off's, then i will proceed to make you cry in your helmet at the track............BOO HOO, HOW MANY TIMES IS HE GONNA LAP ME? BOO HOO..................... then you will finally be able to understand just how much better than you i am. and just think there are many out there faster than me, man you're really gonna feel bad. then when this is all over, you will have to come to the tree on your bike wearing a dress of my choice. OH, and you have to wear a thong underneath and moon passing cars on rivers. ssssshhhheeeeessssshhhhh, i feel better now.

So how bout it?

Hey on a serious note we need to talk. I got someone wanting to do a real bike night here is charleston. There looking to put some $$$ into it also radio and all that shit. how would you feel about breaking out the little bike track again? maybe in a month or so.

Btw Donky I know your fast. I just like givin ya shit about it dont take no REAL offence to it. there are 3 people in this town who can round up a shit load of bikes. me yourself and Lunatic. Thats about the three different crowds. well I have a company that wants to throw a bike night. and my idea is to alter it every week so it wont get boring. 1week pocket races. 2week East coast stunters 3rd week bike show. 4th week bikini contest or something along those lines. I think it could be a big hit. but me and you need to get together on it. I believe this could be the biggest bike night thing in charleston. However me and you will have to put down our sworts to do it. Let me know what you think.

OriginalOne

I'm sure as Kenny will tell you, once a week gets old. QUICK.

Becomes a job when you do it too often. But maybe with enough help you could do it. But even if you do have the man power just like Brandon said particapants can get burned out too.
