Who's going this weekend. I want to get info so that we can have a gathering point and get the caravan rolling at a reasonable time. I would like to have everyone come to the shop around 2 p.m. on Saturday so if anyone needs anything before we go we can get a handle on it at the shop. After getting everything settled let's roll out at 4 p.m. If you don't have any loose ends that need tying up then just get here at 3:30 p.m.
If this is too far out of the way for everyone, chime in here, we are open to suggestions. This will be a relaxed trip to the track for a track day, not race day. Take this as a learning experience and roll with it at your own pace. THis should be alot of fun.

Mock race my moneys on Allen :wtg:
i've never riden with allen, so i'd say my money is on steve, if he goes.

Why don't ya'll just bench race and let Jason tell you how his bike holds the CCS track record. That would be fun too. :sleepy:

Why dont I just come up stairs and punch you in the face F@#KER!!!!!!
OK, I'm in. I have some fresh BT014's coming for the Shadetree MonsFZR. DK will be putting a new peg on it (the original one got shredded during the theft), so I'll just need to fab a seat (read: duct tape some foam to the frame) for it.
Anyways, I need a ride, and a few square feet of floor space to sleep. I could take my truck, in which case I could take two bikes in the back, a good sized trailer (if someone has one), and three passengers. I don't mind putting the miles on my truck, just the mpg.
I'll be bringing my laptop, replete with movies, games, and Power Commander software if anyone wants their maps messed with. I might also bring my xbox, along with extra controllers, and a couple dozen games (anyone have MotoGP 3?), which could all get hooked up to my DLP projector and 60" portable screen, or be displayed even larger on a wall, for some serious fun. Now where's that copy of Faster...
I'll probably be shooting some video, and taking pics throughout the day. Besides a camcorder, I also have a 520 line Sony lipstick cam that I'll use, and would like to mount on other bikes as well. I might even be able to get a hold of a nice digital SLR for serious action photography.

can we put the camera on my bike? and film me and jason getting it on? On the track.
Damn skippy.
...seriously, I'd love to get some great footage, which means putting the camera on the best riders' bikes. I also figure someone could follow me, and other inexperienced track riders, filming us for a lap or two, maybe even at the beginning of the day, and at the end. Too bad I only have one lipstick cam... although for those cool MotoGP style vids, the bike could pit, have the cam relocated, and head back out.

Ok Mike, I'll take you up on that if the offer is still good. If you don't mind driving you could pull my trailer. I have Jason C. and Brad who would like to ride as well. Brad is going to ride on my SV and Jason has a 636 and I am bringing my 636. So that would be 2 bikes on the back of your truck and two on my 5x7 trailer. Let me know if this works for you Mike. If you don't mind Mike call me when you get a chance, I will be out of town today and tomorrow. My cell # is 843)412-6405. So here is the official list as of now. We could have one or two more non comitted stragglers to join us, like Allen C. or Donnie, but I'm not counting on them.

Chris M/ R-6

myself and adam are going down saturday between 12 and 4 I guess. Yea he can room up with us I dont see why not.
That'll work for me. I'll see if I can scrounge up a larger and/or enclosed trailer. If someone has something better that Barry's 5 X 7 (is it enclosed?), please chime in. I have a receiver, but no hitch, so I'll need to borrow/buy one to match the trailer.

thanks Barry, I won't be needing a room for sat night. I will leave orlando around 5:00 and should be at jennings before 8:30 or so. I think the weather is going to be nice. I hope my shoulder holds up for this weekend. I am going under the knife with in the next month. This will be the last trackday I will be able to ride until after I recover from surgery.
Alright, a little update. I got hold of a nice big enclosed trailer. I'll be picking it up sometime this evening, and loading up.

Well I just talked to Jamie at Jennings and she said we would get the $110 if we register together at the track on Sunday morning as long as we had a big enough group. So there it is for everyone. You can not register now by yourself and get that rate so I will see you guys at the registration window sunday morning ready to go.

Actually he was reading the troubleshooting guide in the repair manual and found a wire it said to check unhooked. I never had it hooked up before so I don't know if it just reset something because it started right up after that. Thanks for coming by and letting us use the cdi box to test.

Well, it was absolutely fantastic. Everyone had a great time. Of the 15 that was supposed to go we actually had 11. Which was good. You should here the excuses. Anyway all I can say is that everyone who didn't go really missed out on a good time. The 11 to go were myself (Barry), June, Ben, Jason C., Kenny, Mike K., Jason, Steve, Chris, Mac and DK.
Well we started the trip off in a good way, a few of us visited the Rocking Rodeo bar and club in Valdosta. Bad news, no one got lucky. At least that's the story that I'm sticking to. On Sunday morning the weather was perfect. The 3 newbie’s June, Jason C., and Mike K. were started off by Steve. They started off a little timid but by the end of the day you would have thought that all 3 of them were competing racers. In the beginning they were saying stuff like I don't know where to pass. Jason and June were passing each other like they were rival enemies. Before the day was out I saw all 3 of them passing people all over the place. Mike K. was grinding, foot pegs and knee pucks all over the place. In fact all of them were grinding there pucks. You should have seen June's face when he came back in with his pucks all scratched up. Who created these mad men? Nobody wrecked. Chris had a little off road excursion early, but he saved it. After that he gathered himself and was back in the gas. Steve was extremely smooth with some great race lines. Steve is good person to follow if you want to learn some good race lines. That is if you make sure to tell him to slow down. King (Kenny) was his usual smooth stupid fast self. How fast you ask? Put it this way, da boy run an unofficial time of 1:17:7. This is right at the CCS record time. Remember this was just practice. I didn't get what times that DK were running, but I do know he wasn't wasting anytime getting around the track. I actually got to ride with DK for a while, and boy it's like watching the 250 and 125 gp pros on TV.
I started the day out on my SV 650, and I was spanking some major butt. She was eating up some zx10, gixxer 1000's and several other big bikes, including Mac's inferior 600RR. That's right shagged tires and all. The bodywork looks like Frankenstein. My wife made the comment, are you going to ride that thing? It looks like it was hit by a semi! Before you guy's rag on Mac about losing to a 68.5 hp sv 650, just wait. Mac redeemed his self and kicked my butt on my 636. Here's what happened. The last session of the day DK was going to get some on track video of Me, Mac and Jason. I started out in front followed by Mac, Jason, and DK with the camera. I ran a couple laps in front and then Mac shows me the wheel and passes me. Then shortly after that Jason blows by me so hard I thought the plastics buckled on my bike. Now I’m not used to riding the 636 on the track and I really was trying to take it fairly easy cause I don't want to wreck it with all of the street bodywork on the bike. But after that Mat Maladin pass from Jason I said ok boys it now on. Well now Mac is out front and Jason all over him like a blanket, but the old Mac is riding now and Jason can't seem to get around him. After 2 more laps of this Jason shows us why he the winner of not one but two CCS championships. Jason out braked Mac going into one of the turns and then put the gas on us. We were able to hang on Jason’s coat tails but neither of us were a threat to passing the Kang. Jason was really looking smooth out there. Ben started of a little slow since he hadn’t been on the track in a while, but he quickly picked his pace up on his new 600RR. BTW thanks for letting me ride that badd ass Honda 50.
Pictures and video. I was having so much fun that I didn’t snap not one pic. Don’t worry we were covered. Mike K. had the professional camera and video gear out. This is professional quality stuff, so don’t expect someone to put this much money, time, energy and effort for you to get it for free. More info will follow on how you can get a copy of the video and or pictures.

It was an awsome trip everybody had a good time and nobody crashed,..............................AND I PASSED KENNY.......for 1 second :wtg:
It was a f'n blast.
I was asked earlier if I was hooked. Wasn't so sure then, but since I can't stop thinking about doing it again, I guess it means that I am after all.
One thousand two hundred and fifty.
Let me say that again: one thousand two hundred and fifty.
That's the number of pics that I and Terry (Kenny's wife) took. All but a few of them were taken yesterday. I must have literally dozens of pics of every individual rider. There are also 40+ minutes of video, 2/3 of which was shot by DK from a helmet cam; one of the coolest things is that while DK was out there filming the expert group, I was shooting pics on turn 10 and 11 (about the best accessible spot for pics), so you can combine the video of some of the battles with the stills that I got.
Anyways, I'll be posting some pics to whet your appetite, and posting the rest as I go through them. With my schedule, it'll take a few days, but rest assured, all the good-or-better quality pics will be posted sooner than later.
Stay tuned.

Mike those pic's are awsome. I'm trying to figure this one out. Do you see the sick lean angles that DK gets on this 250. Why is it when I'm at this lean angle the crash truck crew is always helping me to pick my bike back up?

i know, those lean angles are pretty sick. hey barry, what's this sh*t about you whoopin' up on me on your sv?? i was just trying to be a nice guy and not blaze your ass down the back straight!! (which isn't much of a straight, seeing as you're leaned over the whole way from the exit of turn 1 until you go through turn 5...) that was fun as hell when you got on the 636, though. i'm anxious to see the play-by-play from the camera that dk had on.

I was not used to riding something that handled so nice and had so much power. It won't be long before I get comfortable!! Weather was perfect and I had fun.
