I'm riding a cbr600rr 04 and i'm racing with it but the front brakes are not grabbing as much as i think they should. i've tried bleeding them, new pads and new lines but its still feels the same. how can i get more braking power while staying legal with racing ccs MWSB?

you can get better feel from -2 lines. also what are you using for brake fluid?

when you say "not grabbing" are you saying you dont have as much feel as you should? or are you saying you have too much lever movement for the pressure applied? or that you have to squeeze too hard for them to bite?

SBS pads (Patrick knows which ones) and goodridge superbike lines (they go from 1 line to 2, work awesome :wtg: ). These work perfect for Matt and myself, we have grown quite fond of them actually. Cheap. Go see him at Cycle Gear or Jason at Champion. Do not recommend for street use as you will not get them "hot" enough and just ruin them, money pissed away. Also, clean your rotors with a fine sand paper, or even a green scotch brite pad will work, before you install the new pads. Matt and I use the Motul brake fluid, that's what Matt and I use because it works for US, not because is better than everything else. Enjoy. How's your season going? Gonna be at VIR?
If the SBS pads the Kenny's talking about aren't what you need (for the street), I think Honda also makes Japan-market-only racing pads, that can occasionally be found on eBay. They have an excellent reputation, and are suitable for the street.

OR you could do what I didand change the master cylender to the nissan with the cup instead of that stock honda black thing. Dont worry about tech I took home a couple of wins in supersport and no one ever said anything. Those brakes were the best on any bike I have ever had!

are they the direct feed lines into the caliper or do they have a banjo bolt?? what kind of pads are they and were they bed in at the track or on the street?? what kind of fluid are you using (dot3, dot4, etc...)?? is it the initial 'bite' where they aren't grabbing or is it when substantial force is applied to the brakes?? these are all things to consider, so answering these questions will give you (and anyone you get advice from) a better idea if something is wrong or if the set-up just isn't right for you and you need to just try a different combo. just my two cents, and good luck with the rest of your season!!
