For those of you that haven't heard, Matt #317 of Team MAXIMOTO, just won the CCS Unlimited Gran Prix NATIONAL Championship yesterday. And to top it off, HE DID IT ON A HONDA!!!!!!!!!!!! For those of you that have been following racing this year at any level, you would know how difficult that feat was. I'm so proud of him and am honored to have him racing for/with me. So, of course, this calls for a celebration. There will be a party this week for him. Food, beer and good time will be had. So please, join us at the shop Wednesday at 7:30pm. :pals: :party1: :pimp:

Congrads Matt I knew that you had it in you. I don't know if everyone really knows how big this win really was. This is pretty major. This guy was competing with people from all over the US. I won't be in town to attend the celebration, but I'll come by to see that monster trophy when I get back. One more thing, I'm sure that Jason just really appreciates you just raising the bar again.

Thanks Guys, and Gals. Its amazing what you can accomplish at Daytona when you don't have Kenny dragging you out all night to strip clubs. :lmao:

The race was run on a drying track. I didn't get to practice that morning in the rain so I was just going out there and try to survive the race. After a few laps I found myself fairly close to the front and then it dawned on me. This is for a National Championship! Put my head down and had to put out of my mind that I was on a soft tire at a track that is known for blown tires and just pinned it all the way through the banking and front straight. I think the coolest thing about this was being able to stand on top of Daytona Victory Lane.

The weekend was not so good for Trey though. He highsided after only a few laps in practice and seperated his left shoulder.

ouch hope he's getting better.
I got vid on my pc of bikes running that bank in 2004 that thing looks like a shitload of fun.

way to go matt, and you whooped marco martinez's ass!! for those of you who don't know, marco is a frequent competitor in the ama series, and i believe that kenny raced against him at vir, and i know he used to beat him at places like jennings, so this is the level of riding that these guys are at. (i don't know about jason, though...he's still racing with the little guys...lol) you're still my hero, matt...congrats!! :horse:

Gustavo isn't a rookie if you haven't heard his bio. Jason had some real tough competion out there this year. I should have gone to Daytona, I could have won two races for sure.

Jason already knows. I havent talked to David and you wouldn't know either since you are not here.

My Dad called the paper and they were interested but I was in a hurry and only gave him a little info. If I had more time I would have writen a lot more on our season.

Sorry I couldn't make it, guys. I just found out Wed. that I have to spend the next six weeks in Georgia for a school. So, I was busy running around getting things ready.

Again, congrats Matt!
