Hey I just wanted to let everyone know that I had a chance to Ride the King's monster bike this past Sunday. All I can say is DAMN! Liter bikes ain't what they used to be.

Well to Start this past Sunday's ride, Donnie allowed me to ride his gixxer 1000. Believe it or not, this is my first time riding a gixxer 1000. I have stayed away from them since 2001. I did this because I knew if I ever rode one, I would go out and buy one. So anyway I'm glad that I did. Donnie’s 1000 is one hell of a bike. It's really does everything well, it handles great, and the power is super awesome. Having had a gixxer 750 before, it was like coming back home. I absolutely love gixxers. To me they are the best race / stunt bikes that you can buy. I haven't done wheelies in quite a while, but when riding Donnie’s bike I was an instant pro at sit down and standup wheelies. I was able to do sit down wheelies in 3rd gear with out clutching it at all. I knew that I was getting a little carried away when I passed Donnie on his own bike while doing a standup wheelie. After we stopped I changed bikes with Randy. I now see why he is the king of the street. This thing is like riding my 636 X 4. It really handles pretty good with the stretched swing arm, but to get right down to it, it's all about the power baby! It doesn't have the low end torque of a busa or zx12 but the midrange and top end is like a mad man. Randy's buddy was playing with me with his busa. I think he thought that he could actually hang with me, because I let him pass me on the straights, but honestly he had no chance. Randy's bike is down right scary fast.

I now have even a more profound respect for Kenny and Matt's riding ability. I have ridden the CBR 1000 several times before, and to me power wise, it's not even in the same class with the gixxer 1000 and the zx 10. So that means that they had to ride there ass off to beat as many gixxers and zx 10's as they beat this year. Will I go out and buy a liter bike now? Probably not, because I realize even now I still don't have enough sense to control the right hand. :duh:
