It's still gonna get it's ass kicked by the new Corvette ZR-1, and most likely the Z06, also.You may be right, but that's yet to be seen, either way it looks waaaayyyyyy better.

I like the looks of the GT-R, except for the rear end. The looks of the Z06 are so-so, but the ZR-1 has yet to be shown in production trim. Who can agrue with 650+hp, though?

Sorry to bring this thread back to its original intent, but am I alone in thinking the new GT-R looks like doggy doo-doo? Its lines are all at odd angles with each other and the front grille reminds me of a Boxer (the dog, not the Porsche). I can think of at least a dozen new sports cars out there off the top of my head that are MUCH, MUCH more attractive.

So yeah, the GT-R has been and is a kick-ass car, Japan's quintessential supercar. As much as I love the NSX, the Supra, 300ZX, and the RX-7, those cars' performance don't touch the R34 GT-R.

With all the GT-R hype... I wonder if and when it'll actually make it to the US. None of the other Skylines ever did...

Colin, the guy that works at the Show Zone, was even talking about starting an import/conversion business. I'm betting bureaucracy got in the way, though.

Nissan has said its coming to the U.S. in 08. Maybe the date gets pushed back some but its definitely coming, no doubt. Maybe it will look decent in person and pics don't do it justice or maybe the looks will grow on me. Doubtful, but possible. Now the Audi R8, that's a fine looking automobile.

I don’t know…I’m becoming a little skeptical about Nissan performance claims. The HP to weight ratios just don’t add up to the numbers that Nissan is claiming. The GT-R is a big, heavy car. I guess we'll see in the near future.

Yeah, but we know for sure that they ran full blown race tires, now I'm hearing the suspension wasn't stock for the car. No doubt it's a fast car, but I have a feeling it won't be the world beater Nissan says it to be. The GT-R was a legend before the car was even built and I'm sure that was/is tough for Nissan to live up to. We'll know in a couple months.

I just got back from Osaka for the OSAKA Automesse. The GTR is a beautiful piece of machinery. I stlll love my NSX more. From a performance stand -in todays number- my car needs more power. But I don't think due to the looks it will last as long as other exotics. In person it looks like a big overize sedan... I WANT ONE!! but I would rather keep my NSX or a Lambo. The GT-R will fall into new Z06 problem (I WANT ONE OF THOSE TOO) Nobody will know what it is. They'll just see a corvette or a two-door sedan until you leave them in the dust. I'll post pics I took when I get a chance

saw a BAD ASS gt-r at a golf tournament in myrtle beach today. it looked cool as shit, but at $130K nissan can bite me...
