Everyone knows that the HALO ride is coming up this weekend and we are trying to raise toys for kids that are in DSS care because their parents aren't doing a great job of taking care of them. Right now we don't have enough volunteers and or asking people to help us. Does anyone here know what it's like to goto bed on Christmas Eve and wake up Christmas Day knowing that there isn't going to be a present for you? Has anyone here ever been down and not been able to get a present for their child or family member? Most people on here are capable of spending a $3-5 dollars on a toy and donating it to this cause. Or more importantly, most of us could spend 2-3 hours donating our time to help make the event run. You could show up at the start line and just help with parking, registering, selling a few raffle tickets, or anything for just one hour and make a huge impact on this event. I know that a lot of people do different things and support different organizations as I do the same. But this year I'm donating a little money, a few toys, and a handful of hours when I'm supposed to be hunting with my dad and hanging out with my two sons. I chose to take one day and donate it to a child who needs it. I'm only asking you people to donate a few hours, 2 hours would make a world of difference in helping us. It's time to stop being the person that could have and start being the persons who does. If you can do a track day in another state, you should be able to spend 1-2 hours with the same friends right here in Charleston. Just put things in the past and try not to let others emotions and comments stand between you and the child that needs a little Christmas cheer. We only have enough people to contain about 100 motorcycles. We are hoping on 300+ to show up which means we would need about 10-15 more people but just for a few hours. You could show up at the start or at the finish line and donate your time. All hero's aren't on TV or in the comic books, anyone that helps these kids is a hero to them and to me. If you find that you can spare a hour or two or more this Sunday please let us know.
