Managed to get a 5 lap ride along with Richard Petty Driving school as a guest of Crown Royal last friday.

Well I have a new respect for those boys doing what they do out there as deep as that field is. Driver managed to cruise around in 4th the whole time and would enter Nascar 1 and 3 at about 145 mph. (i think a little less) Anyhow those things stick like glue. No brakes, just back out of the throttle and set the car up, no drift just stick and accelerate out of two without drifting was quite exciting. These guys have to do 500 miles around that place.... 5 laps let me know what I would be working on in the gym if I was going to attempt to be competitive.

Car was over 600 hp and based on cup series car chassis with their own body.

They now have over 100 race cars and 150 engines.....

By no means is this cheap, but they are in fact selling the crap out of it...

Don't buy into the driving, just buy into the ride along for the best experience as they will severely limit your speeds in the Driver portion. As
a ride along you get the full affect with someone that knows what they are doing......

You'll spend over $4,000.00 before you get to do what they do in a ride along.

Driving a NASCAR race has always been a lifelong dream of mine. I cannot even imagine what it would feel like out on the track at that kind of speed, I envy you.

Hey man, I think I see a mullet peeking from under that hat

It's cool that you got a few laps in. I don't care for NASCAR itself, but have no illusions about the drivers in the series being average.

Thats how I feel too. A lot of bike riders think it would be easy because its a car. Yes probably all of us here could drive a cup car around the track, I mean all you have to do is hit the gas and turn the wheel. But to be the best and fastest out there, thats where talent comes in. As DK, Kenny and myself know, the banking at Daytona is a lot narrower than it looks on tv. I cant imagine taking a turn with cars three deep.

Drafting and passing 3 wide on a bike is CRAZY, let alone in a car. I don't care for nascar and really think it's boring to watch on tv, but would love to go see a race in person and maybe take a few laps.
