ANYONE DO A/C WORK

i have a RUUD heat pump and the last two nights its froze over so i've been having to turn it off. So if anyone does a/c work without me having to pay $70 just for someone to come look at it. Thanks

Sounds like you may be low on freon. In summer, the froen runs thru an expansion valve and gets the coil cold-blower sucks air thru the coil and into the house. In winter, evrything gets reversed, the freon gets compressed into the expansion valve (creating heat) and then goes thru the same coil with the blower.
If the freon level becomes low, the gas is freeflowing (cold or frozen).
This is just a half-ass explaination of how it all works. Just wanted to give you a heads-up of what to expect to hear when he diagnoses the problem.

1. you may have a small leak somewhere
2. if you do have a leak, and its in an accessible location, he can solder it closed for you.
3. if the leak is in the coil or compressor, he may be able to run a sealent thru and save it...if not...it will cost some $$$
4. just may need a simple recharge of freon=service call+freon per pound.
