If you've ever read the instrustions on a K&N it states not to clean it to often because the dirt helps improve the filtering properties. WTF I thought it had superiour filtering and flow. Anyways I dont think Ill ever buy another K&N. I was suprised at how poorly the Uni foam filter did. I was expecting more out of it.

Is GM a parent company to AC Delco? Im wondering if the filter in that test was the stock filter or just a replacement brand.

K&N filters work best with MINIMAL OIL.. not with dirt on them... the reason they say not to over clean it is that people over oil it.... the filter flows best when its almost dry with oil.. a really faded washed out looking red if you're using the stock K&N oil.
thing is, when it looks like that, people tend to clean and re-oil it... on a motor with a mass airflow sensor, the oil can also mess with that too...

yes, AC Delco is owned by GM... most OE GM parts are from ACdelco or Delphi
