dan,
you were mentioning plastics that makes 50s look like sportbikes...
well, this is what i found awhile back.
i think its pretty cool, since it only replaces the stock stuff... IF you could buy it, and IF it cost the same as a set of stock plastic ( aka around $100) then id be all for it.
but if its stupid expensive, it would suck

if it was made out of the same ABS plastic as the stock 50 stuff.. it wouldnt be that bad.. id put sliders on it anyway, but the handlebar should keep scuffing to a mini-mum... lol.
but looking around.. i found out who makes it.. this guy whos username was 'breakinspokes' online, now username ~e (~e is alot harder to search for BTW)...
his site is here:

conversion is here:

and its 400 bucks...
plus it looks like its made out of fiberglass... 'glass would SUCK for this since it would scuff and need repair just like a regular sportbike... plastic has the color all the way thru, so you can scuff it, and its not as noticable.. (like everyones fifty out there.. lol)

que?
$400?! Sheeit... I bet DK could create a mold for less than that, and then crank out plain fairings for $100-$200.

if i was to make a production quality mold for that, id have about $500 into it...
but after that, id only have about $40 of material (at retail costs) into each one.
but really, if i had a set, and permission from the original creator, id rather find a cheap injection molding company and have them make a ton of copies.. if they were as cheap and durable as the dirtbike stuff, theyd sell better.

The X2 140cc bike is not bad looking. Jason needs to be a dealer. That way we could get a better price. :smilebig:

if you look on the minibike forums, you can buy them at the dealer cost, or close to it..... dont pay retail online.
