I was out driving around in my brothers new truck last night and couldn't get over how many sportbikes I saw on the road. The temp. gauge said 38 degrees. :cold: Dont get me wrong I used to do it all the time but I dont know if I could do it any more. I definatly dont miss having a streetbike this time of year.

I am just a complete freak!! It is going to get down to 27 degs. tonight and I will be getting on my R6 to ride at 5:20 in the morning. I love winter riding but if you do not have the proper gear it will suck big time. Plus I only have to go 10 miles to the shop so it is not to bad. I am sure many car drivers that see me think I am a real big dumb ass, lol. The are times that I will just lift my face shield and ride letting the cold hit my face. Like I said I am a complete freak!!

Well I drove my bike last week from MT P to Panama City FL, then to pensacola from there. THEN all the way home for a total round trip of 1342miles. I left here at about 130 in the afternoon, it was freezing when the sun went down. Temp got down to about 39 the night i left. Bike ran a constant 156deg. well it started at 163 then as it got colder it went down and stayed there. the ride from panama city to pensacola wasn't bad it was a nice sunny day, kinda chilly but not bad. The ride back wasn't bad at all it was about 50-55 most of the way but when I hit the other side of j ville and into georgia... hoooly tits it got friggin cold. Fingertips got the first stages of frost bite.. no lie. but I got all sensation back. Wasn't the best idea i've come up with but it wasn't too bad all in all.

What were you doing in PC this time of year? That is where I grew up and know there isn't shit there this time of year except locals and snowbirds.

Way to go OriginalOne, that is a long ride! :hail: Did you do the ride alone or was another rider with you? How many hours did the trip down take you? Did you have any problems on the whole trip besides the fingers being cold as ice?

It was 28 deg. this morning. Still rode the red R6. A day without me being on a bike is very depressing for me unless I am in the mountains.
