How about the new R6 at daytona tire testing! Disalvo was 1.5 seconds quicker than everyone else. Should show what Yamaha can do and things to come from all the manufacters. It will be great no matter what you buy from now on including susucki.

Well here is something interesting for those that would like to know about HP for the new bikes. Pictures to prove they did the dyno runs with the charts. Not as impressed as I was hoping to be.

Kevin and all of us here was looking at that a couple of days ago. From what Kevin thought was the dyno was fucked up just from the gap in the horse power. Yamaha will stomp all this year in the 600 and FX. From what I have just read last night they are planning on doing Superbike in the future. And I do think they are going to be the ones to give the sportbike world a bike to knock Mat off the hill. Read it is Road Racer X.
It is going to be a great year for racing no matter what is out there. And Mr. Ben Spies is doing great in the testing. He may be the one to knock old Matt off the hill, at least this year.

I read that little BS article. Now do you want to hear the real reason? Yamaha doesn't have a bike to compete in the superbike! Neither does ducati, honda or kawi, but at least they try. Mat may lose a race or 2 this year, but at the end, we will see who is standing on top of the championship podium. It will be great to finally see a superbike race where he doesn't go off and leave everyone during the first few laps. He is the best rider, obviously, and he is on the best bike, obviously. So why is this year in superbike going to be different? I'm surprised that you guy's esp. Kevin would hypotheses that yamaha is going to win everything based on the dyno and a club racer / writers opinion. It's no doubt in my mind that yamaha will do great this year, but doesn't every new race bike have growing pains. I heard these same testimonials a couple of years ago in the superbike when honda released there new cbr 1000 RR. Oh boy it was going to tear those old suzuki's a new ahole. Well we all know what the outcome of that season was, and the next two as well. All of you should know buy now that in road racing it's the rider who has the biggest influence in making that machine turn faster laps. Being able to supply big hp numbers is great, but it doesn't necessarily translate to making your bike go faster around the track. Ask the kawasaki zx 10 team about that one!

Some one needs to knock Matt off. I'm tired of that guy, I'm in favor of up or out. Move up to WSBK/GP or get the hell out. It has to suck being the 6 time AMA champ in a way, too good for the American's but not good enough to compete on the world stage.

Kevin never said Yamaha is going to kick ass. I did. Kaw, won't, not on the 600 or the 1000. Blah, Blah blah. And yes all new bikes have problems. The gsxr 1000 has problem, the Honda, the Yamaha and the KAw does also.
The dyno sheet that we saw is the same one on that board. That sheet was done in the uk. To some what quote Kev. That sheet is a joke! But if there is any truth to it the Suz. has more torche and the other 600's may be in trouble. Un quote.
When will Yamaha get in to Superbike who know.
And Matt is not the best rider...well in the AMA yes, but that is it. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b135/burns420/mod_smilie_weed.gif

No i just have been doing alot of research here lately. i would like to take a educated guess though. I say 18000rpm....111- 112RWHP out the box. the current kawi 636 with 17500rpm has 109rwhp out the box. my eyes. {witch means ive seen it} I like the new yamaha but i got to stick with team green. I REALLY like how the 636 handles and has some sack too! I really cant believe that a bike that hasnt even hit the pavment has pretty much won the races . Yall might want to think about that. the ama is being run over right now in the 600 class by a couple of 636's. so to say yami will rule all. well thats a bold statement. 500 rpm's is all that seperates the R6 and the 636. IF...IF the R-6 lives up to the hype it will have some big race boots to fill. Possible yes, am i going to sell everyone short yet...no

Yeah I can't wait for the mag's to get a hold of it, they will say it has 3000 hp at the rear wheel. It's funny how the first year for a new bike gets some crazy HP number that can't be duplicated with the following years bike or even the same year with a different bike.

By the way Randy, you can't race 636s in the AMA only 600s. Just thought I would help you out and I thought it was 3005hp at the wheel Scott.
yeap! and i believe it is the same with the new 6.... while it is cool to se 18000 rpms did you ever consider the "lazy man" problem? Ok so %60 of sportbike owner take care of there bike....maybe less. help me out here burns. so that leaves %40 that dont. you know furry bikes or just bike that dont get oil changes. ok so you let this bike go over 3000 miles on a oil change..... Then you go do 18000rpms. I think the yami mechanics are about to make alot more money.... HOWEVER!!! I will say this for someone who would stay on top of that you could own a really nice machine.

Don King told you guys that this thing wasn't going to be the 120 hp stock as the rumors were being told. I did expect it to have more hp than it did. I'm a little disappointed to be honest with you. Steve's 05 R6 put out the exact same hp numbers on Kevin's dyno. I'm not saying that this isn't going to be one bad bike on the track, but I really thought the hp's were going to be a little better. For the street, I don't think that us 636 owners have anything to worry about.

That is so true. That is why I expect good reputable people like KWS and Graves to give out realistic true dyno reading off of there dynos. It's true the numbers will vary a little from one dyno to another, but what do you say when someone soon will come out and say that there new R6 is getting 118 stock off of the dyno? Burns, you guy's didn't do a baseline run to see what that pretty R6 was putting out? I can't believe that. So I am assuming that the dyno numbers that you guy's saw were no better. This is a beautiful bike, but with all of the hype I was expecting a lot more power.

Not sure what R6 you are talking about there guy. We have yet to have a o6 R6 in here. They are on the way. The bikes coming here will be dyno stocked and one will be built for a fx motor and a supersport motor. With kevin's permission and I am sure he will not mind. I will tell you what the bikes made before and after. Others have called and are planning on carrying their 06 R6 to us also for motor builds.
And yes I know there will be guys and girls out there yelling their heads off about there bike making 129 hp or some crazy numbers.
Monday I will call Skip at Orient Express and see what he has seen or know of other pulls on the bike. They have been testing that bike for awhile over seas but he was not willing to give out any info yell.
Now we did have a R6 in this shop last year that was a 2005 and made over 120hp, but that thing was built. It was also the highest hp # on a 600 from KWS.
But Yes I will be honest with what #'s I do find out on that bike or others bikes that I have permission on tell you good folk.

Randy do you mean stock or with a built engine? Because right now it looks like the 636 is still going to be the hp and torque king of the 600's. No one is going to be supprised when the gixxer 600 is weak, but yamaha made a very big deal over this bike and got us all hyped up. I think that the false 17,500 redline really takes the cake.

The blue R6 in the photo belongs to a man in N.C. He got the bike from Virgina.
The gsxr 06 ss motor from what Mark Young said is just over 120 hp and that is a low 120. When the R6 motor build is done I will give you the numbers. So far we have 4 or 5 guys that are planning on having their R6s brought.
The one that came to us had zero miles on it.
In all honesty, the new R6 is pretty nice. But I couldn't imagine going to a 600 and lose all that hp. The extra torque and hp in the liter bikes makes in traffic riding more practical for me. I'd like to see the new R1 look like the R6, which I'm sure will follow soon.
I cant believe the tack is off. thats bs.

16,200 is a long ways from 17,500. Why doesn't yamaha just admit that they lied. They lied about the power and rpm's that the engine would produce. There is a lot of talk about this on other forums. A lot of racers are really pissed. This years bike engine performance is less than that of last year, no matter how you stack it. Unless engine tuners like KWS come up with a major plan it looks like team green will own the AMA middleweight circuit again this year.

You may think I am on drugs for saying this, ( I am on dayquil and it is kicking my ass ) But I still think and so do many at KWS that at Daytona the R6 will kick ass. I believe it will be a good fight this year but it will not be team green standing on top when it is all over.
