Long distance rides

There must be other people here besides me that are at least somewhat into long distance rides, so I figured I'd start a thread for us to discuss experiences, plans, and rides.

I noticed in another thread that OriginalOne posted about a ride to Florida. I wish I knew about it, because I might've joined him. Maybe by posting about these things here, interested riders can actually get together.

I rode to Myrtle Beach last summer. Does that qualify? I actually wish I had the time to ride long distances. Maybe next summer I will take time to do a distance ride.

yea, i rode a total roundtrip of 1342 miles i think it was. I went down to panama city for a few days then over to pensacola for a few days then back home. stopped 4 times for gas each way. that kind of sucked but by the time I needed gas I needed to thaw out my hands.

One year, and I know it will not be in 06. I plan on riding all the way to Sturgies and back on a motorcycle. Even if it is a ride I do alone.
I have no problem with long rides. Working 6 days a week does not allow it to happen.

I've done some hardcore day trips befor. 1600 miles in 1 day. I don't mind it too much. I would love to do some cool touring, but my time and money is limited. There's a couple trips I'd like to do this year. One is a 600 mile trip through the Baja pininsula in Mexico. That's happening in April http://eldiablorun.com/. The other one I'd like to do is the smoke out in NC in June. Granted these are more oldschool chopper runs, but they look like fun. Daytona would be cool, but gota work :( . I had more fun when I was broke and unemployed.

i'd like to do a northeastern run up into maine this summer if anyone's up for it...there are some v4 guys that plan on going from the va area also....

i'm missing about 20 states to make all 50 and this knocks out about 10 of 'em...

plus i'd like to do another bun burner 1000 if anybody on here is ready....

Hum, iron but ride huh? I'd like to try that once. I've done it for lesser reasons. why not have a usless piece of paper to show for it this time. One I'm proud of, lol. But Then we get back to that whole time and money thing. Might have to think about that one though.

im planning on riding to wilmington in two months on the concours,so im sure it will be a comfy ride.the furthest ive ridden was to atlanta and back in a weekend.
