Tracy and I went for a little ride... No trailers, just a little 300 mile jaunt to go ride some sweepers and twisties. I swear I saw her get passed by some farm implements though... :D

For those of you heading that way, there are some excellent twisties just off the Blue Ridge towards Waynesville on HWY 215 and HWY 276. Its not quite the Dragon, but you won't get busted for speeding. The roads are a little bumpy, but clean. I had the roads to myself, and wished I was on a Motard at the time - the straights between turns are much shorter than those at Deals Gap. Tracy was back at the cabin, nursing fatigue so I got to go play at a more "brisk" pace :evillaugh:

On Hwy 215, there is a nice little pull off, where you can relax a minute and cool off with a splash or two of mountain stream water. I believe the stream is called bubbling rock or something. It's an easy climb down and back up, even in boots.

A little further North on the Blue Ridge, there is the Pisgah Inn. They have an excellent restaurant called Peak of the Parkway. The dining room has a wall of windows with an excellent view of the valley and other mountains. They serve a very tasty (and reasonably priced) whole brook trout which they will debone for you at your table. I highly recommend stopping there - it's at mile marker 408.

Yep, it was a nice break from the kids and the daily rat race.
