I've been thinking of getting something like that, and with all those interfaces (especially eSATA), that ain't bad.

Hmm...worked fine earlier. Maybe they ran out of them.

The single drives are pretty cheap now but I don't trust them. I want to get an external enclosure with built in RAID and GigE but can't seem to find a good case at a reasonable cost. Netgear, Lacie, WD all make one but they're $400+ and come with the drives. I'd rather put my own drives into a third party case. Oh well, maybe one of these days someone will make one that's reliable.

and one of these...

Linksys Network Storage System

They work pretty good and it's fast.

I've had a 500GB WD MyBook for well over a year, with 0 issues :yeah:

Good drives. I have three in my main PC set up as a RAID5. I wish write performance was better, though...

That Linksys is not bad, unfortunately it's only 100mb. If it had GigE it'd be perfect.

I'm a big fan of the Seagate Barracuda hard drives. They've been extremely reliable for me. I've got a box full of failed WDs. Maybe their newer stuff has improved, I haven't bought any in 5+ years.

The netgear was the other option. It cost more and only did IDE Drives.
