I am amazed at how nice this thing was.... i'll start by saying that. I went to the dealership today to check on my ten {witch is running again} Wel a guy bought the new 650 that was there. I kinda know the salesmen well. so I asked hey can i uhhhh. he tossed me the keys. WHOO HOOOO So im on the rode and wow the little tiny bike has sack! and lots of it! it's no ten but it WILL run with the 6r's and comforitable and cornered like it was on rails!!! I couldnt believe how nice this thing cornered. I was tempted to run a corner hard hard. but then i remembered "you break it you buy it" so.... But for the ten muinits i was on it i was REAL impressed! I'll go ahead and put it out there ZX650r = SV killer!!!!!!!!!!!

I would like to ride one myself. It's not even in the same class as a 6R, trust me on this one. The 636 has about 115 hp stock and the new ninja 650 has about 70 hp. Now with that being said, what you probably noticed is the high torque this little twin motor has. It actually will have about the same torque as the 6R. But in no way shape or form is this going to compete with a 6R or any other 600. Now will it compete with the SV's on the track? I guess we will find out in a couple of months when race season starts. I'm going to put this out there. I'll be willing to bet that the SV 650 will still dominate the lightweight classes in CCS and Wera.

just to straiten it up a bit the zx6r has 109 out the crate. then you do add on's. Wernt you paying attention at kws :dumb:
Here's where it gets wierd. a 65 to 70 year old man bout it.
Sum. i got to admit this thing was fun to ride. cornered nicely. oh and yes i have rode a sv. i rode robs. didnt like the rear tire breaking loose when down shifting. zx650 problem solved. How... i have no idea. sliper clutch maybe?

There's this little trick called blipping the throttle when you down shift. I doubt seriously that the zx650 has a slipper clutch. BTW I remember when the guy only got 109 hp out of his new 636. He should have been a little disappointed, because most guys on the zx6r fourm were getting 112 to 115 hp on there 05 636's. Hell my 03 had more power than his 05. I think he got a weak one!

he poped out 109 with the stock pipe and a paper tag... not to shabby. a slip on would put him right on up there with those 110 to 112 bikes. with lots of mods to go.

Like I said, if I were him I would be a little disappointed. His bike is a 05 636 it should be making more power than a 05 R6 and a 03 636. Most of the guys on the 6R forum was making 112 to 115 right from the dealer. Remember, slip on pipes usually don't make power in most cases. If you get 1 hp out of a slipon I think your pretty lucky. If you get 2 hp then you have a small miricle on your hands. Now some bikes will really react well to a slipon, one that comes to mind is the RC 51. Back years ago I had a RF 900. When I put a yoshi slipon pipe and k&n filter on it. I actually lost a 1/2 hp on Kevins dyno. Needless to say I was a little disappointed that my 900 only made 113.5 hp.
