I'm sure Pan Head Ron and all of his Harley buddies are just anxiously waiting to dine and fellowship with there favorite group of Jap sportbike riders. :hammer: Thanks for the offer, but I think that I have a scheduled skeet gun cleaning that day.

LOL. I know a lot of Harley riders out there have a problem with Sportbike Riders. It is an ABATE event. They stand up for the rights of all riders not just the Harley ones. There is a chance I will show up just to see the ones I know. But as far as eating, I think oysters are nasty!!

I had a dicussion with a lifelong biker (and Hells Angel) I worked with about the support ABATE gets from sportbikers, and his stance was he, and all the other harley riders in ABATE, have always been dissapointed with our lack of support. And frankly, I am dissapointed in myself for the lacking I have showed. We all have obvious reasons for not mixing with that crowd, but they represent the same things we do about making educated choices as we see fit. Fact is, both sides of the biking world make fun of the other, but we SHOULD work togeather to try and help make this a better and safer world for the next new motorcyclist.
Sorry for the rant.

Thanks for putting it in a very mild way. Now I know a lot of puke Harley riders that hate sportbikers. I personally know a proud harley rider who said that he would never ride a stinking jap crap piece of shi% bike. Now this same idiot drives a 4 wd toyota truck and his proud passenger has a honda accord. Can you please expain that one to me? Another thing take a stab of how many jap sport bike riders that are in Mr Pan Head's local abate groups. I would be overwhelmed if you said more than 1 out of every 100 bikers.

I disagree 100%. I will never ever give my support to any organization that is affiliated with the Hells Angels in any way shape or form. I support taking every hells angel that has committed an illegal act straight to jail. They are nothing but a terrible gang, just as the bloods and crypts. We shouldn't idolize them! If you really want to support something that is helping bikers then join the AMA like I have.

THE HELL WITH THE AMA! HA is a motorcycle club not a gang. There are bad apples in every group that is out there. Sure many of them might be envolved in things that are against the law. So are many that ride sport bikes, and a good number of them in the low country. ( sport riders that is ) Everyone has the right to be the way they want and support who they want. And yes ABATE AND HELLS ANGELS have a tight relationship. ABATE is not the HA.

Looks like both of you guys have some very strong opinions. From what I could gather Barry, the Angels aren't what they used to be (the FBI and Secret Service saw to that)... well, not quite anyways. The news tidbits that they, as an organization, are still involved in various illegal activities is more than just stigma.
On the other hand... "THE HELL WITH THE AMA! HA is a motorcycle club not a gang."? I'm not going to ask if you really just said that Steve, because you obviously did, so I'll ask: why did you say that? Please explain why the AMA should go to hell, and how HA is a "club".
Anyways, thanks for posting up the event. I'll probably add it to the calendar soon. Maybe talking about the "other" side is right up there with talk about politics and religion, etc., and should in general be left the hell alone.

I have never carried for the AMA Mike.
So why would you think that HA is a gang. They get together ride just like those that meet at the tree. They get together for events dinner and hang out just like those at the tree. They are motorcycle enthusiast. Just like those at the tree. Are those at the tree a gang?
Neither of those answer my questions, but that's ok.
Back on topic...

I said the hell with the ama. I don't like the ama. When it comes to standing behind a group that is going to try and stand up for the rights of bikers I would stand behind abate before I stood behind the ama. I think the ama trys to do a lot of good for the bike world. All I every see ( and I may be wrong ) is them standing up for the rights of those who want to go play in the dirt.
I see the HA as a club. They are a group of people who love to ride and party. They formed their club. When the group returned from the war they felt like they did not belong to anything. So they formed a motorcycle club because they loved to ride and party. Why would you not call them a club? because some do not obey the laws. I don't obey all the laws.
But anyway, I posted the oyster thing just incase any of you out there want to go suck don't them nasty critters.
I'll admit that the AMA doesn't have a clue how to run a Superbike series but if it wasn't for the AMA we wouldn't have a lot of the rights we as motorcyclists enjoy today.
I can't comment on the Hell's Angels, I don't know much about them.
