View Full Version : Smart Course - MSF instructor
I'd like to welcome Smart Course (http://www.cornerjunkies.com/forum/member.php?u=394) (Rick), a certified Motorcycle Safety Foundation instructor. I know that at least some of you either want or should take a MSF course, or know someone that wants to as well. With Trident and the on-base training being booked up, Rick's course might just be the alternative that some of you were looking for.
According to his bio, Rick is a full time motorcycle cop. I hope that doesn't deter you guys from welcoming him and his expertise here.
His MSF course site is http://www.smartcourse.net/

I will probably be looking into this when work slows down and I have some idea of when I will be home for a weekend to take it.

I gladly welcome him!!!!!
Need to get my husband in one of his courses SOON. But need his bike fixed first. haven't had anyone reply to me when I asked for help. Guess noone wants to work on Cruiser bike or maybe because I do not come to Bike nights? Not sure what I may have done wrong.

I don't think it has anything to do with you Tootles. Most of the shops are just slammed right now I'm sure.

Thanks for the welcome. I hope I can give some input that folks may find useful. I would say no matter where you take a training course whether it be from me, one of the base courses, or Tech (of course I would prefer me) but where ever...... please take a course. M/C fatalities are on a dramatic increase. It is always unfortunate but I have to respond to them. In a lot of cases being properly trained may, have saved their lives. Another good thing about taking a course....in most cases your Insurance discount is enough to recoup the fee within a year or so. Enough of the Gloom and Doom.....Lets Ride and have some Fun.......

Amen Sir! I hope to be signing up for an October class. That is if the work schedule allows.
Rick, do you want me to combine your old and new accounts? If so, which name would you rather keep?
I know it may be early to ask, but would you consider giving a group discount on a particular course if, say, ten people could agree on a date?

Hehehe, I thought of mentioning the group or CJ discount. But hey, don't haven't all CJ members already taken the MSF course?:whistle::whistle:

Sorry guys and Gals I don't get on this site very often. I guess I need to start checking it more often. I will try to answer some of the last posts all in one. Yes I do live in Ibis Glade. (you probably saw my truck)
Mike you can combine the accounts. You have to forgive me on this computer stuff. I ride a lot better than I surf..... :smilebig: Anyway which ever one you think best. I seem to be able to get on the Lawrider account easier for some reason than the smartcourse account. Either one is OK. I appriciate you helping me get the word out on the course. Thanks again everone for the kind words. If I can help anyone with anything related to riding let me know.
FYI....I got kicked off of my parking lot on the base (SpaWar bought the building and ajoining parking lot) where I was teaching so I have been scrambling to find a new place to train. If I don't have a place to train I can't hold the course. I had to cancel June and July class. I may have found a replacment place but I won't know until next week. I am hoping to get it settled by the 29th for the Aug class. If anyone knows of a parking lot that I would be allowed to use, let me know. It is always good to have a back up plan.
You heard the man,
if anyone knows where there might be a parking lot available, please speak up.
It might help taking into consideration that this will be a legitimate class held by a motor cop, and not just a bunch of us trashing 50's.

you should call about the parking lot of the old northwoods mall theater next to hooters while eit is not being used
The management at the Carolina Ice Palace are great. Every time I've asked them to use their parking lot they never had a problem with it.
You, also, may be able to get Aaron Acrocrombie out for a few sessions. He's the lead instructor for the AF sportbike class. If interested, I can talk to him.

I have talked to Arron before. I have talked about doing some sport bike stuff but I need to get stable place to train. I have talked to someone about the Ice Palace on Fri also. I was also going to go there next if the one I am working on now falls through. My supervisor is in charge of the security detail there for the PD. The one I have a shot at right now is the old dollar theater on Eagle Landing Blvd right across from Northwoods mall. I also have a number to the real estate guy for the theater at Northwoods. These are all good suggestions and I appreciate it.
Lawrider, do you know Scott Emmons (Scooter) from the Summerville Police Dept.? He's a good bud of mine.
