The so called Busa killer

Kevin spoke to Coby Adams of Adams Performance today. He has a zx14 in his shop. Stock hp for the bike in his shop is 164 hp. From what he has told Kevin is that the Busa is more friendly. Because how the motor is made the highest you can bore the zx14 is a 3mm. Putting it around 1450cc. If you want to go higher that than you will have to do some serious mods on the case. Coby said the bike is more of a pain in the ass to work on than the zx12.

I think when you say friendly you mean engine building wise? Because the zx12 was a way better handling bike to ride than any busa could ever be. It is comfortable, it is fast in a straight line but handling ain't exactly one of it's strong points. I cannot imagine the zx14 being a worse streetbike than the busa no matter how ugly it is is. If the bike puts out 164 hp stock and it probably weighs at least 50 pound or more less than the busa, I cannot see why this thing wont kill the busa if both bikes are in stock form. Now will it be a good choice for the drag guys? Probably not.

Yes in is more friendly as far as working on it. Stock I would think it would give the Busa a run for its money and maybe beat it. Built motor I would say ( from just what Coby has said ) that it will not beat the Busa and not even the big 1000s that are built in the back by KWS.
Yes it is ugly but so is the busa. ( sorry Shane )
If it came down to drag racing I think I would stick with the Suzuki.

yea ALOT of these are hitting the street's getting mixxed reviews though. some people dissapointed by 164 hp and some shocked by 180hp.......hmmm

Damn some Busa hater's here, You're forgiven Steve! Barry I've ridding the zx12 & really as far as the handling, really I don't think there is too much of a difference, but when it come down to have to work on them F!@# the zx12! Maintainance is so much easier on the busa! I'll let you ride mine then let me know what you think buddy!

That bike is not stock!!!!!!!!!!!! We know who worked on it and what was done. SORRY IT IS NOT A BUSA KILLER!!!!!! I know I am starting shit.
Stock 1400 went .05 faster than a 06 Busa. And 2 mph faster.
