I know this is a little late Matt, but I know you haven't bought an SV yet.

You want to stay away from the 03 SV 650's. The 03 model was the first year of the second generation sv's. A lot of racers have had major problems with this year sv. Problems like bad cranks, etc.

The 04 and higher models have quite a few things that changed. A lot of parts like exhaust, etc. will work on the 04 and higher models, but not the 03 models. The 03 is like a generation by itself.
