JMan

Hi, My name is Jason. (Feels like AA) Aka JMan. Love to Ride, Love to Play is my moto for everything in life.

Like skateboarding, bmxing, wakeboarding, skiing(water and snow), 4 wheeling, boating, jetskiing, flying, skydiving, snorkelling, gaming, computers, playing music on the guitars, hot mommas, barbeques, beer, and especially love 2 wheeled motor vehicles and most of all my wife!!

I;m a Hillboy, born and raised in East TN, pretty close to Gatlinburg.
Was on motorcyles before I could walk, and my mom and dad use to sandwhich me between them when I was little when we would go for rides. Not safe nor legal but fun. Started riding by myself at age 5. Remember those little fat honda 50's?

Several dirt bikes up til 14, when I got an MB-5. Yeah, now that was a weird but fun bike. Upped it to a Honda 550four. First sportbike test drive on a ZX6 at 16 didn't turn out too good. Brought back a wrecked Ninja and my dad wouldn't let me get it. Shortly after that, got a EX500 Ninja and have been Ninja faithful for 10 years. I did get a Suzuki GS550 to fill in a void of not having a sport bike for a couple of years but soon had to go get another ZX6R!!

Bought Tink (my wife) a Suzuki GS250 a few years back to get started on and learn how to ride. She excelled and wanted a sportbike. What does a good motorcycle loving husband do?? Went and got her a Ninja 250. She excelled on that and started riding my ZX6R. Problem was anytime we ever went anywhere together then, I was on the 250 and she was on the 600. She got all of the attention, trust me.
One day she had a great idea and suggested that I give her my ZX6R and go get me a new 636. Well everyone, did that sound like a good idea or what??

Let's Ride!!

Hi my name is TeRi. AKA TINK.
I like riding, music, cars, my family, my friends, shopping or spending money, my great dane, Tinkerbell, some days the Air Force, chocolate and girlie things.
As was stated, I started riding a few years ago and have been hooked since. There is nothing more liberating in the world. Besides it is cool to be a lady on a sportbike! I enjoy riding with the guys and gals. Hope to meet all soon...at the GAP. :wtg:

My name is Todd. Ive met alot of you already but i figured out I would post on this newbee topic.

I got my first bike a 99 F4 in 2000 and made an upgrade to my current 04 1000RR after a grueling year in Korea. After that tour I deserved a new toy. Still consider myself a rookie but after the April 15-17 trip to the gap I consider myself a rookie with a hurt ego!!!! I did learn alot from the experienced riders and would do the whole thing over again...even lowsiding my baby. I cant wait to hang out and ride some more with you guys and gals.

hi, i'm MAC, and i'm a bike person...i love giving my rr a spongebath, going for brisk sunday cruises, and taking it for a moonlit walk on the beach...i catch some sh*t from charles about my bike, but i think its just jealousy because he likes my rr better than his. hopefully shane will get one soon so my baby has more rr's to hang out with, but for now we will put up with his katana 1300. its not shanes fault he got caught up with all those d*mn suzuki people (aka barry & chris...), so we will try not to hold it against him... :cheer:

I will be looking for another bike before long. The Kat 750 was a great learning tool, but I am longing for more. But in the mean time I have to wait till the finances catch up.....by the end of the year for sure. Hey MAC how much for the CBR? I have to seel the Kat first, but let me know something.

Hey Shane, dont buy no stinking honda. I'd ride that pink tricycle that Kat posted a pic of before I ride a honda. As a matter or fact, the trike might be a bit faster. I know the honda boys didn't share the story this weekend, about how the little 05 gixxer 750 of Alan's faired against my brother's BIG & POWERFUL cbr 1000. Just ask Chris, I'm sure he'll be glad to tell you the whole story.

Hey all, I'm Mike. Most of you already know me, but I'm the (or one of the) resident geeks here. I made this site to give DK and his business a web presence, and have expanded it a little to include this forum and a photo gallery. I'm the guy that's been battling it out lately with the forum hosting company to speed up access (my way of saying that I'm working on it, and apologizing that it's still slow 50% of the time). If you or someone you know has technical computer software/hardware questions, needs a network set up, wants to get a new PC/laptop/gizmo, is swamped with spyware, etc., let me know, and I might be able to help. I could use the business. I've done a lot of work for Champion Honda/Yamaha (thanks to Kenny for the opportunity), and ProPac. I've also done countless personal/small business jobs.

I have an 04 FJR 1300 I ride most of the time, and a KTM Duke II in the works to play around on.

Hi, my name is Doug AKA DMANIIZ, Ive been riding as far back as I can remember. Bikes I've owned...
Honda-50-matic
Honda 185 on-off rd
1977 Honda CB550four (@15yrs old)
1979 Yamaha 750 special
1992 Suzuki 400 Bandit (my transition bike)
2001 Suzuki GSXR750 (still in inventory w/22k miles)
2005 Suzuki GSXR1000 (Ya-BABY!!! YA!!!)

What can I say, I love to ride, my idea of an appetizer is picking the bugs out of my teeth and eating them while waiting for fast food at some burger joint. Less time in the booth and more time in the saddle. I am not satisfied with a ride until the rubber is rolling off of my tire from carving corners.
My wife Melanie has recently showed a sincere interest in riding herself. Life could not be sweeter then a garage full of bikes and a hot momma on my peter. Just kidding honey, well...not really. LoL.
Anyways I have met most of you and look forward to crossing paths with anyone I haven't.

Hey everyone. I'm Barry aka SUM650. I started riding at a late age compared to most of you. I started riding in 1996, and my first bike was a Yamaha Radian. After that I've had a quite a few different bikes. I like to do any and all types of riding. Weather it be trail riding, dirtbiking, crusing, touring, sport street riding and racing. I really have a appreciation for all types of motorcyles, not just sportbikes. Even a katana, or honda. As you can tell I am a little bit of a Suzuki sportbike fan. My current bikes are a Yamaha Warrior, Kawasaki 636, Yamaha TTR 225, and a Suzuki SV 650 race bike. By the way I have a TTR 225 and a TTR125 for sale. My son and I are both looking to upgrade to a YZ85 and YZ 125 or YZF 250.

Huh! I've got an ole 1982 12" black and white set that maybe, I would have traded you for that honda. Sounds like to me, the boy who got the honda got gyped. What size tv did you get by the way? I think that we all just got invited to Dave's house to watch the next big race. Who's bringing the beer? Just kidding! I've got a big delima as well Dave. I want a new 60 " Widescreen HDTV as well. I also want to buy wheels and a aftermarket intake for my truck. Right now I'm leaning towards the truck.

Speaking of Yosh, what do you guys think about a Akro Evo or the Yosh system with carbon can? The Yosh is half the price and a couple hp down on the Evo. I can get the Yosh and PCIII usb for $960 and just for the Evo it's about $1100. But man, that fit and finish on the Evo sure is sweet!

Hey Dave, as you know buying a exhaust is almost like picking out a girlfriend. Everyone has different taste and desires in mind. Now do I think that it makes since to buy a $1,200 pipe over a $600 exhaust to ride around on the street? Absolutely not! Again, a individual maybe buying it for looks, and sound. If the the Akro system does make 1 or 2 peak hp over a hindle or simular system, what difference would that make on the street? My brother has the full akro system, and a dyno tuned mapped pc3 on his 04 cbr 1000. It did gain in performance, but not $1,500 worth. That's a lot of money for so called performance. I say just by a slipons and be done with it. The bikes performance is what it is. If I were going to shell out the money for an exotic exhaust, I would probably spring for the Arrow, Arata, or TI Force system. You definitely won't see everyone pimping these around. I just thought of something Dave, I highly recommend that you should definitely go with a D & D or better yet, a Vance and Hines system. I wouldn't steer you wrong buddy! :wtg:

burns
05-09-2005, 07:03 AM
The two best exhaust systems out right now are the Ti force and the Leo Vince. Both are over a grand. We just put a Leo Vince on a GSXR 1000 and it gave the bike a 12hp gain.

The new gixxer grand is already one sick bike, now your telling people that they can add another 12 hp by just adding a full system and pc. That is just crazy. Do you know what this means? The gixxer grand will probably be the #1 totaled bike this year. So maybe I can pickup a wrecked one before the year is out.

Hi, I'm Kenny. Haven't been to the tree in a loooooooong time. Mark, Sherry, Clay and I started the Sunday meets several years ago and I've seen riders come and go. It's good to see that it's still going strong. As an outsider, since I haven't been out there in a while, I am really glad to hear the reputation of the Sunday meets have changed. I haven't heard the crazy stories as much as I used too. I can probaly safely say that alot of that is due to Barry, Steve, Chris and Mac. So continue to ride safe and I should see you guy's this weekend. 1:00pm, right??? Also, I used to be Mac's hero at one time. Should of seen him before I taught him "game", ain't that right? No I caught that to Kenny, but I was going to just keep my thoughts to myself. Now since you brought it up, well I better still keep my comments to myself. Since Ben made the comment that I'll never make it in marketing, my self esteem is running a little low. Thanks Ben, I'll never be the same.

I started last season doing Wera and then swtiched over to CCS for the second half of season (mainly because CCS was doing more SE races). This year I am going to try and do both, whenever they are racing at tracks nearby. (Roebling, VIR, RA, etc...) and I can get away from work. I think my first race this season will be Wera at Roebling in a few weeks. I know jason plans on going. Did I mention he is cherry pickin this season

BTW my bike needs molesting. The poor thing has been sitting for over 4 months now. It's ok she will get a proper flogging on Sunday

There is Rebecca, my sister. She has a blue Fz6. She's still waiting to have her bike lowered and is going nuts over the whole ordeal. Nothing like have a $6k paperweight.

There is Rachel. She rides a red R6 who's bike is being worked on and is one of the coolest chicks I know.

There is Dawn. She doesn't ride YET, but she promised me she's getting a bike this season.

There is Nikki, Barry's wife. She joins us on rides sometimes, but I haven't seen her on the forum.

There is Charlene, Tom's wife. She's one of the nicest ladies I've met on two wheels. She's still getting her feet wet, but when she's ready to open it up, she promised me a ride together. Tom, is she on the forum?

There is Kristin. This gorgeous badass in NC that keeps promising me she's going to come visit us.

There is Becky. She doesn't usually ride with the tree group, but she does get in her pavement time.

There is Tink. She's a pretty good rider. I haven't seen her sign in here in some time though.

Then there are those that aren't on this forum that ride; Sarah, Allison, Nicole, Amanda, and a few others whose names escape me at the moment.

You'll meet them. The riders in Charleston are in a small community. Female riders stand out.

Hey Ray! Welcome....back. The guys discussed an easy ride Sunday. I guarantee you could keep up with me. I like being amongst the living unlike these fools.

We will see. I am not so sure that me being out there with you guys is going to help me stay away from the sportbikes. I want another so bad I can taste it. Especially after being at Champion and watching Kenny load up the NEW R6.....That thing was SICK!

That new R6 only revs to 6000 rpm, right??

I did not get that close to it....I would have really been in trouble if I had..... :smilebig:

Long time no see man. When are you going to be back in the area?
I moved back here about a year ago and I just picked up a little yamaha cruiser until I can figure out what I really want.

Next time you are going to be around let me know. I would like for all the "old Schoolers" to get together if it is possible.

Hey Jeff this is Barry. How the hell are you man. I've heard that you've been in town and you don't even stop by. I still live in the same place. When are you going to make plans to come ride with us? We are going to the gap on the 7th of April. When's the last time that you've been up there?

Hey everyone , nice site you have here! I just joined after hearing about it from a friend of mine.
I live down in Hilton Head and don't make it up to Charleston very often but if any of you find yourself down this way let me know and we can do some riding or grab a beer.

Thanks , and yep I raced at Roebling that weekend. Were you there?
I think I met Jason 41 , my buddy Greg knew a guy there named Jason so we were talking with him a bit in his pit area and then our pit area.
Did I meet you too and not realize it?

I was there part of Saturday and most of Sunday, taking pics and hanging out with the Maximoto guys (Jason being one of them).

What did your bike look like? I'm having a hard time finding #554 in my collection.

Did you pop off the 2 plastic panels with the dimples on each side of the tank?
Did you remove the 2 lower black bolts , one on each side recessed in the frame so you can remove the tank if you need to?

Hey Duc and welcome to the site. I was also there that last wera race at Roebling watching Jason, Evan, and Matt. I'm doing CCS on a SV 650. Are you going to join us on our next Jennings track day on the 23? We'll probably have 20 plus guy's from Charleston going. I'll be fun for sure.

Yep , I am trying to work it out with Greg so that we leave Saturday and stay at the track in my trailer.
But first , I have to get new tires delivered and mounted since I think Jennings only has a Dunlop guy there ...... used to be Pirelli?
Give me a couple days to work on it.
When is everyone planning on heading down? Who will be sleeping at the track? We should try to caravan down if possible. :smilebig:
