I would like to find some cool places for pics around the city. maybe some that people might not know about. anybody game in helping me find some and taking some pics?
i have one good idea but it would involve being out about 2 am-ish and involves I526.
let me know if your game.

In front of the Riverdogs stadium steps? Maybe.
If you can get it on the sidewalk in front of the customs house on East Bay.
Any picture involving a hot chick....
Are you going to park your bike on top of the bridge and take a picture of it?

haha yea that was the plan on the bridge. i know i cant do it on the new bridge but i have seen times where you have a good few minutes on the don holt before traffic comes.
i was kinda edging more towards spooky pics like abondoned warehouses, foggy backdrops, etc. Im into that stuff.
There are some spots like that around the old Navy base - grungy, dirty, rusty, paint peeling, etc.

the lighting is hard to get right, but sunrise at the washout on folly.
at the battery, the sun sets behind the James Island connector. done on the right day before full sunset you can get some nice pics of the bike with the rows of palm trees disappearing in the background down the street, and a red sky.
like this:

then theres docks on the water, and a few things like that.. they work well.
after that, you can also try blank walls. industrial parks work well.. with your bike on a blank wall, its easier to photoshop it out. colors other then white/gray work best for this.
train yards also make for some interesting pics, although you have to be careful about where you park and where you go.
I also like "WTF is your bike doing THERE?!" pics.. basically, you park where its just odd, or shouldnt, and take pics... i dont have alot of them online.. i need to find them at home.
just bouncing ideas... if you have an idea of what you want, i can probably think of a location.

hmm, i have some ideas on that.. kind of an abandoned-industrial thing maybe?
btw, you now have me looking through some OLD OLD pics.. 6+ years old.

...or all of you could organize a photoshoot (time(s), location(s)), and I could knock that out for you like nobody's business. I've already offered this a couple of times and no one's take me up on it...

Baaah! I enjoy shooting, and all the more so for friends. So yeah, if several of you get organized, you can wind up with some magazine-quality images.

Not bad. Next time try taking the image from ground level - literally set the camera down on the ground, and compose the shot from there. Try one of two things - either get a lot closer to the bike so that it's clearly emphasized, or set it off to the side so that it really becomes part of the scene.
I might go there later today/tonight for my shoot.

Sheep! did someone say sheep? It's not nice to talk about sheep near someone with a Scottish background...they are so soft and fluffy and cute and...oh sorry...I'm OK now.
Nice pics Patrick. I have to agree with Mikes advice. Set the camera on the ground, maybe with a tiny rock under the front edge of it. It gives the objet a larger than life appearance. Still great pics though.
