View Full Version : RSV4 is official
Great looking bike!
"After numerous spy shots and leaked details (http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/22/aprilia-unveils-rsv-4-with-plans-to-go-superbike-racing/), Aprilia has finally pulled the wraps off its upcoming RSV4 superbike. This is the machine that the Italian company will use to contest the Superbike World Championship in 2009 against the Ducati 1098 and the Japanese literbikes. To properly do battle, the RSV4 will make some 210-horsepower -- fully competitive with the best the series currently has to offer. While the race-going RSV4 (http://www.autoblog.com/photos/aprilia-rsv4-racebike/) is an amazing piece of kit, it's the street-bred RSV4 (http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-aprilia-rsv4/1049849/), which will come in both normal and factory guises, that's of the most interest... since you'll actually be able to purchase one sometime next year.
Powered by a 999cc V-Four engine mated to a six-speed gearbox with slipper clutch, we expect the Factory to be on par power-wise with the Ducati 1098R, meaning about 180 horses or more. Coupled to a wet weight of 418 pounds the RSV4 will be one seriously fast machine. A ride-by-wire system will likely allow Aprilia to offer more than one engine map to adjust power for specific conditions. One of the more interesting bits of kit that will be standard across the line are the numerous chassis adjustments, including the ability to alter the swingarm position and the headstock angle. Styling-wise, the new RSV4 tips its hat to the RSV 1000 R (http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/26/in-the-autoblog-garage-aprilia-rsv-1000-r/) that we tested earlier this year with its third eye headlight that mimics the shape of the old ram-air duct from the twin. The rest of the bike looks thoroughly new and appropriately awesome. We're not sure how much it'll cost, but we know we want one regardless."

it does.
the angular bodywork.. the headlights, the swingarm... if you said it was the 2011 RC71, no one would go "it looks like an aprillia" or " like a yamaha", or like a suzuki.
it has some lines that look honda-ish.. thats all.
also, you suck at quoting.

The man's got a point. When the first one came out, the air intake immediately made me think of the RC... a bike that Kenny's very fond of, if I remember correctly :smilebig:

Just joking Jason. I can't get rid of my bike. I love it. Insurance is only $330 a year for full coverage. It's cheaper to keep it.My wife would cut my nuts off if I bought another bike. Say's I've bought too many already. It would take more money from her Twinkies fund.
Now if you get a good used 600 in that would be cheap for a track day bike and I can pay cash for it, call me.
On a side note: if any of you ever meet my wife and tell her any of the things I've said about her I will deny it and tell her you are a heroin addict and you have not had your fix for the day.:D

Easy throttle body synchronization + Aprilia + KWS + Chaz Davies + the insanity that is Kevin Hunt = Good stuff for MT KWS next year hopefully.
I really hope they can hold onto Chaz for next year, although I doubt it.
I think Chaz is the rider that has finally shown what KWS can do without all the money the others have and 10 year old technology.
Burns???????????
