just go with a hindle..........or even a m4 they make just as much power if not more unless you really want to spend the money for an akro

Akrapovic = Quality product. Depends what you want. Cheaper brands out there with the same power gains. But Akrapovic does have about the best fit and finish i've seen.

Full Akrapovic Ti on my 03 rr. I t is a very nice system. No problems at all installing either
I like the Akra, also, but of course you'll be paying for the fit and finish. Akrapovic and Arata are about as good as you can get. Like Charles said, the things are SO easy to install.

Well I found a pretty good deal on eBay for the akro system...$899 plus shipping...figured that's a hard price to beat seeing the MSRP for that system is around $1,963.95 found on Parts Unlimited
Does an exhaust system normally come with the header gaskets, or should I just order some from yamaha?

Not sure on the Yamahas. Mine did not need them.

I have both a Hindle (on YZF1000) and an Akropovic (on BMW K1200R). If money isn't an issue...buy the Akropovic. However, if you only care about power and don't mind the lack of quality Hindle has compared to the Akropovic...buy the Hindle.

Now the true question BMC or K&N?

potato pototoe they are the same back in the day some would say k&n would not be the one to use because the use to get sucked into the airbox but now days they are the same

I have a K&N on my 01 R6, world of difference.
BMC works very well with Honda. I don't think K&N quality is as good as it once was. DJ may have more good advice on the filters subject, but I say BMC.

Either one will work fine. The BMC is nice and some say it puts out more ponies, but I used both in the same season on the R1 and couldn't really tell:shrug: On the dyno you may see the results but it seems like this is just for you street bike so I would go with the better price for your budget. Can't go wrong either way. Enjoy.:yeah:
