[glow=red:8a4fea99e1]TIRE DEAL!!![/glow:8a4fea99e1]
To anyone attending the trackday I will order a set of the 208GPA tires for $300 plus tax. Free shipping. This is the price we would pay as racers with shipping. And this ends up being employee price for us at the shop. This is only for the trackday riders. We just want to see everyone have a safe day. I need to order these by the 28th to get them in here on time. Just stop by the shop with a full deposit.

Thanks to everyone for the speedy pre-reg's. I made some changes due to rider request's, but was not given the opportunity to post the changes that were requsted before someone else decided it would be better for them to do it for me. Originally, it was to be 2 groups of 15 at 20 minute sessions. Unfortunitly, this will mix experts with novices and there was some riders that didn't like that. Well it makes sense to have three groups at 15 minute sessions with less riders. So, if this is a problem I will offer a refund to you. I mean you can always pay much more money and ride with many more riders in a group, but hey what do I know, I've never done this before . SOOOOOOOO with that said, I look forward to meeting those of you that stick with it and I assure you that it will be a good time.
ALSO,
I have many of you that pre-reged over the phone with me, but have not sent the checks yet. I can only have 40 riders for this to work well with small groups and still give plenty of track time. Over 40 riders would be too crowded. SO what is gonna happen is I am checking off names as I recieve payment. When I reach 40 (aprox. 13 per group) I will be returning or shreading checks for those that don't make the cut. What ever the rider requests. Thank you all once again. YOU GUYS ACTUALLY RIDE!!!!!!!!!

if you want to camp at the track you must be there between 7pm and 10 pm saturday night. you cannot get in the gate anytime before that or after that. once again RRR has strict rules, so by making schedule times strict we keep them happy. for those of you that have not been to RRR, they have a mixed reputation to say the least. I have a good relationship with the track Managers and intend to keep it. Basically, don't bring pit bikes and never under any circumstances do wheelies ON PURPOSE. they know what a power wheelie is so don't tempt them. thanks all.
Wow.... at first we cant get 10 to jennings and now were all booked up at roebling.... wow

Wow.... at first we cant get 10 to jennings and now were all booked up at roebling.... wow
I hate to bust your bubble but you didn't do anything special Randy. Every trackday that Kenny has hosted at Roebling has been a hit. Kenny's trackday's are kind of well known now. The last one had a AMA racer there practicing with Trey. The action was fantastic. There were people there from all over. NY, Atlanta, to South Florida. It was packed with tents, rv's and racers all over the place. On top of that there were at least 15 or more people from Charleston there. They even had the red bull reps there giving out free samples. That was probably one of the top track days I have done to date.
http://www.dkf2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=128
It looks like I'll be doing a whole lot more shooting than riding this time; who knows, maybe 1-2 sessions and I'll be done riding.
I'll be bringing my camera gear, laptop, video gear (Kenny wants me to cook up something sweet), and maybe a decent printer (although for final proofs, especially poster sized prints, I'll have to outsource).
I've now shot two track days, and both times it has been strongly suggested to me that I could/should offer my pics up for sale, so I intend to do that this time around. With this being my third time, and with some of the learning/experimentation behind me, you can expect the quality of my work to have improved above anything you've seen from me thus far. This is hobby for me, but a serious one that I've invested in heavily both in terms of time and money. I just hope that a few frames will surprise me, like the last two times I shot :)
The amount of stuff I'll need to bring means taking the truck, which in turn means that I'll have at least 1-2 seats, and one slot in the back, available for anyone that wants to split the gas costs... that is unless I manage to find enough room in someone else's ride :)
======================
PHOTOGRAPHY and (limited) VIDEOGRAPHY at the track
Besides the basic pics out of the camera, I am also willing to do mild-to-wild post-processing, and printing of images, on a case-by-case basis. This means that depending on what you want done with your picture, it might cost a little or a lot more than the basic image from the camera. I guarantee that you'll be satisfied, or there will be no charge for the additional work.
Cost for the images will depend on the size, intended purpose, amount of post-processing, and output options. Basically, if you want a shot for general personal use, you'll get a high quality 1024X768 (or so) file and/or a small print for around $10. On the other extreme, if you want a series of the full size 3504X2336 files, with moderate post-processing of each image, on DVD, with several poster and/or canvas prints, hosted on a website for display and/or FTP access, with commercial/publication rights, the price will be higher by several orders of magnitude.
I will be shooting some video on the track, but it will be limited, and with relatively little/low-quality gear (compared to my professional grade photography equipment), I don't expect it to be a major part of the day.
SWEET. mike i hae a open chalk in my trailer. I think i hae a seat too. just split gas. like $30

I don't know if they have vehicles we can use to retreave bikes from various parts of the race track or not so as one of the corner workers I am bringing the following:
My truck
a Ramp
tie downs
first aid kit
fire ext
water
gas
chairs
and a play pin for Jason :smilebig:
may be over kill but you never know.
I have two seats, and one spot for a bike in the back of the truck, if anyone wants it. I'll be leaving sometime late this afternoon, or this evening.

mccutch2u
03-04-2006, 03:03 PM
so where is this list of who all is going
I'll be heading out between 7PM and 8PM, and still have 1-2 seats left in the truck (bed is full).
PM me or PM Randy for my phone number if you need a ride.
I'm bringing my track FZR. It has little more than the essentials - Battlax BT014 tires, carbs and forks tuned by DK, R6 brakes, and steel lines. No $$$$ plastic, no $$$$ lights, no $$$$ gauge cluster.
Who cares? Well, you track noobs with very pretty, but expensive-to-crash bikes are welcome to borrow mine (I won't be riding much). Same goes for anyone I know and am already friends with that simply wants to take the thing for a spin.
Just a tiny piece of advice for noobs, especially the liter-bike noobs: throttle control will make you (go fast, safely) or break you (and/or your bike).
In all, I took over 3574 pictures.
Here's a link to a teaser pic (this one's of Kenny on the last turn before the straight... #8? 9?):

Well from what I heard a lot had a ton of fun. Something people were wondering plus myself is why in the hell would you have a novice rider who did not know the lines do traffic control?
mccutch2u
03-06-2006, 04:58 PM
i would have to agree with steve an glad everyone had a good time but having someone new to the track showing peopel who haven't been on the track the line is like the blind leading the blind and is in my view unsafe now all those newbies are following randys line which, no offense to randy , but i hear that his lines are way off, i think the the guys with the most experienc i.e. kenny matt barry should be the ones showing the lines
mandingo
03-06-2006, 05:22 PM
where did you hear he was showing the newbies the line? he was helping me because i needed to split the newbies up in groups of 5 with a control rider. all he did is help them around the track SAFELY until they were ready to go on their own. and i know he is new at trackdays, but, this is his third one with me and i felt that i could trust him to do it for me. he doesn't take any unneccessary risks and doesn't try to show-off. try to run your own track day with minimal notice and help. i thank randy for the help.

I was out every novice session working with as many newbies as I could. From what I could tell everyone was getting around the track safely and very few were riding above their personnel level. I even followed randy around for a few laps, he seemed to be doing fine in my opinion.

i heard it from multiple sources which are all on this forum so if they feel like chiming in then they will.........also what is this that i hear that people were peying on staurday to go after it was supposedly booked

Not to give name, I do not rat for no reason no matter how big or small the deal. I heard it from about 5 people who were there. Some even falling behind him who know that track very well.
Again this is not busting Mr. Randy chops.
Those I heard it from thought it was a big joke.

Does it matter? Really? What's passed has passed. Randy was asked to help and he gladly did. Those that crashed weren't following Randy's lines. We had a great track day. How about a little gratitude we had a track day at all?

this raises the question how will they ever be ready to go on their own if the person they are following on the track isn't qualified wether it be randy me or anyone else for that matter and i do not think three track days would constitute being qualified....................not to mention what would someone learn in that situation that would be like me trying to teach someone how to ride jennings they wouldn't learn shit from me that they would learn from the guys with more experience

i had arrangements with one person to pay at the track because he has been to all of my track days and has helped me in the past. if you would of told me that you wanted to go but didn't have the money until the trackday, i would have done the same for you, but instead i asked you over and over if you were going and you said, i don't know. then you make up your mind and i'm booked, too little too late bro. as for randy teaching anything, he was there to help seperate riders, that's all. three track days does not make him an expert, but i felt confident enough in his ability to "HELP" me. and who are you to say he isn't capable of it. don't tell me you guy's are jealous of randy

I have met a lot of people that have riden for a very long time on the track that are not qualified to control ride so experiance is not a factor IMO. But a calm head is.
Think of Randy more as a pace setter than a control rider. No one ever went around a said follow Randy and he will show you how to set the new track record. He was there to make people fell comfortable. There are a lot of people that are new to it that are so nevous about being out there alone. Even if they have the skills it scares them. Randy was calm enough to put his ego aside and take thinks slower than usual to help people get started. Randy has definatly shown he knows how to ride well within his abilities. Hell by my third trackday I seperated my collar bone from my shoulder.
Pics lookin' good, Mike! Can't wait to see them.
Track day sorta sucked for me but I still made the best out of it. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day to ride....the afternoon weather was absolutely perfect.
Dave and Tom really picked up the lines quickly and put up fast times for their first time to Roebling. Steve and I were impressed as we watched their last session.
It was cool seeing the 'Busa fly past me about a buck sixty! Also, Charles did a fantastic job helping the slower guys.
I agree with Chris and disagree with the Champion guys about Randy, in my opinion he shouldn't have been teaching anyone anything yesterday. Third track day and first time at Roebling says enough by itself. Not a big thing, I never followed him so I didn't see his pace, but the experience doesn't lie. Anyway.....
All in all a great track day and Kenny, Matt, Jason and the gang put on a very nice event. I thank them and I'm looking forward to getting the bike running right and ready for the next one.
P.S. Shane, trust me, I'll get you back for buzzing me at 165mph!!
I also saw Austin stop after a session and help one of the new riders with his lines. Pretty cool of him.

i tell you what, drive all the way to jennings and spend all the gas money, pay the expensive entry fee, hang out with people that you don't know and enjoy the long expensive drive home. if not, i'll see you at the next track day.
Kenny, I stated my opinion, plain and simple. I also said you guys did a great job on the track day but Randy as a control rider did make me laugh when I first heard it. If there was a class out there that needed EXPERT riders help, it was the novice group. I realize Matt and few others were out there so there was no need for inexperienced riders controlling anything.
I will give props when it's due, Randy did help out alot. He got alot of folks to do the track day. Plus, you can't go wrong with Bubba Burgers!
Barry nice choice on the dinner, great seafood. I'll have to go back.

I am new to the board here so I do not want to make too many waves
actually I don't care about makin waves
First off I didn't see anyone frowning at the track (except for those who crashed) meaning everyone looked like they were having fun.
Most tracks require some form of instructor or monitor for a given number of riders in a novice group(usually 5-7 riders). I was there when the track manager told kenny he needed to have people(CR's) out with the novice class (1 for every 5).
Whether or not Randy has the required experience to control ride is irrelevant. He was willing to go out and run at a slower pace than what he could go so that WE ALL could have a good time. That meant he used up his tires HELPING us out. No one else stepped up to help out. Otherwise the day would have been open practice meaning novices with experts (I am ok with that, but I don't think everyone else would be )
I made the announcement at the beginning of the day that if anyone wanted help on lines to come see any of the CR's only a few people asked for help.
just my $.02
by the way since no one has said it...
Thanks Kenny for putting on a good track day, it ran alot smoother than some of the track days I have been too that were put on by professional track orgs
Wow.... alot heat in here. Kenny asked me for a hand and i jumped in to help. of course i was alittle intimidated but Before i went out with anyone me and austin went out and rode the line a couple of times. Kenny even went out once and were on the same line. so If some of your buddies friends brother thought i was on the wrong line please let us know because me kenny and austin need to take there track school. If on the other hand your refering to my speed or times after lunch yea my ass was wore the fuck out. hence i got off the track for almost an hour just to catch my breath. so yes there was like a 4 min lap time i laid down once. But i did the responcible thing and got off the track. The facts are these I helped a couple of people not many but the couple i helped i gave the same advise that was givin to me. they said it helped. But as far as everyone bitching.... before i did this everyone at the tree talked like they were rossi. and now that im doing it i have found that if the track is further than the mark clark your not going. So hate it love it find humor in it. I had a blast kenny and cant wait to go again. Let me know if you need any help. CONTROLL , tools, or trailer
By the way mad props to the corner workers and race controll! there was a hick up here and ther but DAMN!!!! for RUNNING a track for the first time with the Track Natzi's bitching every five min AWSOME JOB!!!!!!!! A+++
Just chiming in.

Thanks to everyone who helped out, esp. my boy Charles. I cannot count all the people I saw him helping out. I do have some awards to give out so here goes.

I don't know who the rider was other than he was sharing a tent with the 05/06 green 636. He was riding pretty slow most of the day at least into turn one. But he really picked it up towards the end of the day and was really rapping out down shift and breaking at or just inside the 3 marker into turn one.
