btw, the transmission is cool, but i didnt expect it to be in some kind of stretched out goldwing with a shark nose...
they should have just offered the trans in some kind of sport-touring bike... but not the ST....

Should've made it like a 919 or something to that matter. Hell it might look good in person, but right now......:yernuts:

I also like the looks of the handles, they look high enough for me so it won't hurt my neck

I think some of those features wouldbe better suited on a different bike.

It will have to be after the first three go. But yeah you can come by and ride one.

cool...
sometime in the next decade, i predict that atleast a few of the sportbikes will have CVTs instead of conventional transmissions...

I think you are right. I rode the Manna it was cool. I could see were there is a market for that type of bike.

CVT would make sense, I think, on Sport Touring bikes.
Having one on my FZ1 would have been great, as long as I had the option to switch to manual shifting.
As I understand it the CVT has several different modes of shift points?

to me it looks like a Harley Road Glide and a V-Rod had a threesome with a Honda and the Honda got pregnant.I do like it though,i think its cool looking in that it is different and i like different.

yea, as i understand from reading about Hondas take on it, the transmission is entirely computer controlled.. by adding a "manual mode" it can shift into preset positions... just like having gears.
taking it one step further, it could allow you to "tune your gears" to whatever you liked...
if the level of trans ratio precision ever became high enough, i could foresee a time when a rider could have the engine at peak power (or efficiency) RPM mid corner, but the transmission would be regulating the rate at witch the bike accelerates... :chin:

I would never talk about Skully - it has Kawi influence!!!
I guess the recession is really hitting the Honda design team hard -

i'm not sure if honda's cvt trans operates the same way, but this is exactly how most newer automatic 4wheelers operate. the engine stays at peak operating power and the clamshells in the trans adjust to change the output ratio accordingly. (until they get packed with mud, of course...)

Looks like it has ABS on the front too. I like it. If you get one in Jason, let me know.
