If you are going to order online check out Brad at Superbike Supply, located in NC. I have gotten a few items from them.

I am ordering some other stuff from him already. He doesn't have the sprockets in the color I want.

I went 1+ / 2- on my 01 R6. Made it very peppy and extremely easy to wheelie.

However it takes about 30 to 50 MPH off the top end. VERY TOP. So top speed is something like 135 or so. I'm never much for going over 120 nowadays. The only other drawback was at 70 to 80 MPH in 5th or 6th the RPMs are a lot higher so the bike is louder and screams almost all the time.

Holy crap just looked at the price, that seems way expensive.

Hrmm....if stock is 16/43 I'm thinking maybe 15/44. That should provide an improvement in lower end, and not take too much off the top. correct?

fasterthanyours
01-11-2009, 11:15 AM
16/43 gives you a final drive of 2.69
15/44 gives you a final drive of 2.93
15/45 gives you a final drive of 3.00

You get a big increase going to 15/44 however overall increase is better going to 15/45.

14/45 would give you 3.21 and tons of torque, but lower top end.
16/44 would give you 2.75 which probably wouldn't be a noticeable increase.

The 1 to 3 drive ratio is optimal. So 15/45 is the best.

I'm not a racer, I'm just good at math :D
However there are enough racers on here that they could recommend to you the ideal setup for street performance.

Ya I was just reading on 600rr.net and a lot of people recommend going 15/45 it seems. Looks like that's what I'll do

Thanks for the help =]

I went -1, +1 on my 750 and loved it. Later on when it was time to replace the chain/sprockets I tried -1, +2 and I HATE it....too buzzy at highway speeds. I would seriously look at -1, +1 ...just my .02 Check out www.motomummy.com (http://www.motomummy.com) for good prices and OUTSTANDING service.

Yeah what he said with my R6. However as more and more of my friends said my bike was way to loud on the highway, the more I left it in 5th gear to piss you guys off :D

I have an 07' 750 and I was thinking of +2/-1 ...problem is, my bike is already really loud. Is a +1/-1 even worth it? or if I'm going to spend the $ should I just go straight for the +2/-1

Scootimus

It all depends on if you do a lot of highway riding or not. Yes your normal cruising RPM's are going to increase so the bike will be louder but if you don't run up and down the highway at 80+ all day long I wouldn't think it would be that big a problem. Unless your bike is annoyingly loud to you the way it is now. If that's the case I would bypass the gear change or switch to a different exhaust. Hell, I liked the way your bike sounded that one Saturday we all rode out to Edisto. I didn't have any issues with sound.

i thought it sounded awesome too, course i like loud as legally possible on anything i ride/drive so i may be a bit partial lol

I noticed a nice change from stock gearing to -1/+1 on my 750. I even rode it for a month with just the -1 and noticed it. For me its personal preference....I had enough pull with -1/+1 for me and its just too buzzy at -1/+2.

fasterthanyours
02-10-2009, 09:56 PM
+1/-2 made mine really loud or rather loud enough for someone that road with me to say something about it.

It's not that it's too loud for me, but I do spend a lot of time on the highway. I live in Moncks Corner and work Downtown...so that's a lot of back and forth, and making that trip 10x a week I do spend a lot of time at 80+ mph

I would be doing that too if I had that ride to do daily. I would probably start with the -1 in the front and see how I like that. If that's bearable soundwise but not enough grunt wise then maybe add the +1 to the rear. The good thing is you can easily sell any parts you decide you don't like.
