So I was surfing the net and came across a link to an auction site: http://www.swoopo.com I figured WTF and checked it out. The are selling shit insanely cheap...looked too good to be true. Well...somebody is getting a hell of a deal, and the web site is making a MINT! Here is an example how it works. The auction starts at .01 for an item. It costs you .75 to bid on an item, and your bid raises the price of that item by .01..YES... one cent. Here is one auction: Canon Digital Rebel XSi + 18-55mm Lens Black. The list price they show is MSRP $899. They show "One recently sold for $154.58". Ok folks, do the math with me. 15457 bids x .75 a bid = $11,592.75. Now add the $154.58 you have to pay because they won the bid then lets go worst case and say full retail for the camera ...they just made over $10,848 selling a $899 camera....absolutely BRILLIANT!!!!!
Now...who here is a web-site genius? :-k

I am, but they are not.

Dear customer,

Due to technical issues, Swoopo is currently not available.

We're working as hard as possible to restore the service.

When the site is working again, we will add ten minutes to the countdown of live auctions, to allow all bidders the chance to get back on-line and start bidding. Please check back regularly.

We're sorry that you're not able to bid at the moment, but we will be back soon.

Your Swoopo team

Shit ain't hard to do.

Just for grins, I watched the closing on one of their penny auctions for a Nikon D90 digital camera outfit. Because the bids kept rolling in as the timer expired, the timer kept resetting to 1:15 as it approached the end of the "auction" - WHAT A SCAM! :nay:

Yeah the regular auctions were getting rebid at :01 for like 5 minutes. It was like a game. I was starting to see if I could guess when the bids were coming in.
