View Full Version : Forum name change part III

I'm in the final stages of transferring the forum over to cornerjunkies.com. I'll probably make the switch tonight, when there's least traffic.

To make this transition a little easier, I've temporarily disabled attachments.

If at some point you come to DKF2.com/forum to find the forum disabled, or gone altogether, it means that it's now alive and well on cornerjunkies.com, so head on that-a-way.

I guess since it is just a name change all of the things all of us good people have posted will stay right?

Of course. Everything will be as it is here now... that is until I improve it :smilebig:

Mr. Mike,
I type in cornerjunkies.com and end up on one page. I log in and then get shot to a page that still has dkf2 in the corner no cornerjunkies like on the first page I get. What's up doc?

looks like it's almost done... just have to take care of some details (avatars, attachments, etc)

Thanks. It was a royal pain, mostly due to the hosting company dragging their feet, and then the speed at which any changes propagated throughout their network. I was tearing my hair out trying to figure out why something didn't work, only to later realize that the server that the forum is hosted on wasn't quite done with the account setup :wall:

Anyways, please let me know if anything is wrong. I might've missed some things in the move.

Whats with the chemistry composite on the logo?

Adrenaline :smilebig:

idea......if the composite for adrenalin is relatively simple, that should be used. if not, we can just tell people that is what is already there, unless you're a biochemist, chances are you wouldn't know the difference.

I thought it'd be neat and thought provoking, but if it's not welcome, I'll take it off.

do you know what it is? or will we just roll with the adrenalin idea?

Mike

Sure, but it's even more cryptic, and not as pretty as the symbol, so... keep it? Ditch it?

dumwinnie

nah, keep it, looks good i'm just pressing for my own curiosity, not too strong when it comes to chemistry.

I like the idea, but the graphic could be smoother and maybe a different color. Also, would you like me to work on the logo?

I just threw it together. Had to have something other than the old logo. Sure, I'm open to new ideas.

Maybe if you came up with some variants, and some other people contributed, we could vote on one, and stick with it. I smell a fresh thread...

One more thing, I'm not sure if anyone else is having this issue. With the word portal on the end of the top banner, it doesn't fit in my screen.

maybe use the chemical compound idea, but add wheels, sprockets and other miscellaneous bike parts as the elements and have them linked with a chain? that's a variant of what you have already.

I like the new logo. I also like the pics of June, Randy, and Kenny. Who are the 2 people in the other pic?

Is the top too wide for for 1024X768?

Sometime the clever just jumps right out of you. Not often, but sometimes.

I made some changes to the top images. They all fit within 1024X768 now.

Cool idea, and it would work for a large logo (such as a replacement for the front page), but the detail would get lost (maybe not completely) in the small logo. I/we'll have to try it sometime.

Yeah, the top banner. I was tired of seeing all that blank space. I may change it to something else eventually, but for now it's all good.
