Harbor freight carries the pliers, I bought the 6" today. No idea where to get safety wire. Harbor freight did not have any instock.
I've seen SS .032 and .041 online but I am unsure what to get. Never safety wired anything before. I watched a bunch of internet videos though. :D (and I stayed in a holiday express last night)
Anyone with pointers/caveats/what not to do and where I can get some wire locally. (remember I am in Columbia)
Thanks,
Jeff

ecps is a little too far away for a trip this weekend. :) I'll check Lowes and HD tomorrow. What diameter should I be buying?

Sorry dude, did not realize you were in Columbia.
One of the racer type guys will chime in and help you out. I'm way to slow to even be worried about safety wiring anything.
If you're doing it for trackdays (e.g. Kenny's), it's not necessary... but either would be fine I think, since it's mainly used to keep fasteners / threaded plugs / etc. from backing out completely.

Kenny asked me to wire the oil filter and drain plug. Figured it would be no big deal...
Ah, in that case you should probably do the filler plug as well.

yeah thats a good idea. I was thinking about it. Will give me some practice. I am going to do both the Busa and the 599.

I think you would be ok with .020,.028 or.032 diameter - Stainless steel.

Not sure if it's a standard thing at HD or Lowes, but it's just wire.
You could probably find it at Walmart...They have everything ;)

Ride over to Shaw AFB hit up a pinger for a few feet of wire. Or to a local FOB and bum it from an airman.

you don't need the thick stuff. besides having to drill all the holes bigger, its more of a PITA to use and it won't look as good as some thinner diameter wire will.
