Jennings TRACK DAY!!!!!! April 23rd 2006

Ok ladies and gents. I got some people who got a taste at roebling and want more. so Were putting together a trackday. but unlike most were asking for prepayment so we dont end up like last time at jennings cutting people at the track. Were heading to jenningsgp. holla if your interested.

I added 'Jennings' to the title, added it to the calendar, and made it a global announcement to increase visibility and participation.


The last JGP we had a serious issue because the track day was overbooked. If it wasn't for Kenny, some of us wouldn't have had a chance to ride, ALL because too many people dragged their feet, few pre-paid, and ultimately we showed up at the track practically expecting reservations when none had been made.

To avoid this, we need to collect the funds before, and I suggest well before to avoid being cut out due to overbooking. I'm not sure if it's a track policy, or a Kenny special, but I do believe that with 10+ people, individual cost drops to $100.

Well this is a regular Jennings GP trackday. Randy is just trying to make sure that we get at least 10 people that are commited to going so we will get the discount price. This is a GOOD thing. The rack rate if you just show up is $145. So I would rather pay $100 vs the $145 more. This is a regular scheduled trackday. Typically here's what we do. We usually leave to go down sometime early Sat. afternoon. We need to leave town early enough to make it to Valdosta to enjoy the night life of the big city. Then we can get a hotel for about $50. Now you can get at least 3 people per room. If you make it down early enough you can camp out at the track if you like. We then hit the track Sunday and ride all day. After that we packup our stuff and make the trek back to Chucktown. Sunday is a long day but well worth it. Jennings will have 3 different groups. Beginner, intermediate, and expert. If you haven't been on the track before don't sweat it. There will be several very experience people there to help you with the whole deal. From setting your bike up to taking you out on your very first lap. Here is what I tell everyone, you will not be the fastest person on the track, and you will not be the slowest. So don't worry about your ego or impressing anyone. Randy you must have ESP James M. and I had decided a couple of days ago that we were going to go on this weekend. So count me in for sure. I will be going regardless or not if anyone else goes. Here is the same link that Mike posted so check it out. If you have questions just ask away. BTW it takes about 6 hrs to get there. Maybe just 4 for Kenny. :insane:

Why don't you set a deadline date for people to pay you. For example something reasonable like two weeks before the trackday. How do we pay you? Just drop a check in the mail addressed to Randy with the Blue zx10. Help us out. I just want to have some sort of idea on the weather condition before I commit to going. For example I will not go if it's pouring down rain the whole weekend.

well barry that is the down side to jennings. some tracks have rain insurance witch means if it rains you get a rain check. IE road atlanta however these tracks with discounts are $185!!!! so yea it is all or nada... sorry for the bad news.

Yea, it's like here in the summer time. There's always a 20% chance of rain everyday. I didn't know you have been to jenning 3 times already. Hell, you just started riding on the track. That's what you get for hanging around Jason. Now all you need to do is take one of those license classes the day before the race to get your race license. It sounds like your ready to go. Do CCS since Jason is racing wera. I need somebody to hang out with. I'm going to do the CCS race the May 6th and 7th weekend in Jennings. You should do that one since you have some good experience on that track now. I knew that once you gave the track a try you would get hooked. BTW when are you going to hookup a drag racing night at the strip again? I missed it both times last year. I looking forward to stomping somebody!

Looking at the pics, it's surprising how similar Matt and Evan look when they're taking a corner. It's not unique (some other riders look similar, but few), but it is fairly distinct.

I've been itching to go to the track for the last several years. Last October, I finally made it. Look at me now, just four months later, I now have three track days behind me (although the last one was mostly photography), and I see myself making a few more this year :smile

Barry's been trying to sell that thing for a while now. Besides the looks, it's a great track bike. Sounds like you just need to agree on a price.

That being said i will make it my goal this weekend to round up some loot. What is the price if I show up to pay on the track day? I've heard a few different things and I'd hate to pay now and there not be a rain check issued due to bad weather. I'm hearing it's $125, is this true?

no if ou pay at the track it is $145 and no garantee you will be able to ride. i am a member of alot of forums and i believe there will be a sold out day. I think the reason is due to all the racing. there hasnt been a track day in over a month so people will be amped to get on board. I also have reason to believe that there is someone in florida getting together another 20. this track can only hold 150 in a day. well if i hit my 20 {witch i believe i will} and they do the same then thats almost a third of the track in two groups......

for what it is worth to ya nash everytime i have been to jennings it has been %30 chance of rain with a storm on the horizon... i spent the whole day riding. AH i did miss one session due to fog in the morning. all together though i have paid $355 and have rode for 18 sessions! thats 15 min a piece for a total of 4 and a half hours of riding on a pro track.

The $125 is the prepay rate if you pay Friday before noon. All you have to do is call before noon the weekend that you are going. Then you will get the $125 rate. If you just come on Sat. or Sunday it will be $145. Since Jennings has been open I bet it hasn't sold but once or twice. I think that since race season is now in full season and the track are open everywhere that the chances are slim that it will sell out. I'm pretty sure that they have never pre sold out.

If that's the case Randy, how about making a time deadline, and not a quota? Like, say, no more sign ups after April 12th? That would give the people on the fence time and no excuses to bitch if they miss it, and you plenty of time to send it all off. Better yet, you could send off the first 20 as soon as you hit it, and add more riders up to a certain date.

Me Greg and Troy are all friends and yes Troy has some things going on that have his track time on the back burner at the moment but hopefully he will be back out there soon.

We plan on leaving here saturday afternoon , not morning.It's only about a 3 hour trip from here and I don't want to be at the track too early incase there is a packed evnt on sunday with no place to setup.

You are more than welcome to stop in on the way down , you go right by my exit on I 95 and I am 10 minutes from 95.

Alright everyone, it's been a while since I've made any posts on here, but its' good to be back. To those of you lucky enough to not have to work the Air Show and are getting to go to the Gap, YOU SUCK!! LOL. Hope ya'll have a blast this weekend and that the weather is perfect. Just as I am sure you guys have already made travel arrangements for who's riding with who for the Gap, we need to do the same for the track if not already done so. Maybe I'm just so far behind because Hooter's wings are getting smaller and the prices are getting larger. My issue. But I am looking forward to another wonderful trip down to Florida this time and hope everyone gets their bikes and equipment up and ready in time. There are several people looking for leathers, tire warmers, stands, etc. This is definitely the place to advertise those classifieds and want adds!! I'm betting it's going to be HOT down there this time. It was pretty darn warm in October when we went, so I'm thinking a lot hotter this time. Consider taking large coolers with ice and water. Fans and power strips. So let's go down there, be safe and have a great time!!

I usually don't camp out there either. Ask for the Track / Racer hotel rate. It is considerably cheaper. Last season it was $38/ nite. I like it because it's close to the track room are decently cleaned and you get a continental breakfast included. I will probably leave around the 3ish myself.

Myself ( Tony ) and Wencker79 ( Greg ) travel / race together , we live 20 minutes apart.
Dirk Diggler ( Joe ) also races WERA and CCS and resides near Charlotte.
The three of us were pitted together at the last Roebling race for the couple of you that we met there.
Greg ( Gdeese ) , John Sigmon ( Sig ) , Sentinel , Joe ( Dirk Diggler ) and I all know each other from a website called www.cycleaddiction.com.

Tire service is hit or miss at Jennings. If no other races are going on in the area then the pirelli or dunlop guys may show up. I definitely wouldn't count on it. Get your tire in advance.
